Air Bag Problems of Kia Motor Optima Hybrid

I was involved in a high speed, rear end collision in which I was traveling at approx 55mph when another large vehicle changed lanes from right to left, right in front of me causing me to collide with them. The result was significant front end damage to my car and significant bodily injury to myself because of the failure of my brakes to adequately stop my car and the failure of the air bags to deploy resulting in my body and head rapidly flying forward into the steering wheel.

Takara recall, I had to replace the contact assembly clock after air bag sign would not turn off, certain cars were recalled due to this problem , I believe it should be looked into additional years as well since the problem is still on going.

The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and was made aware of the contact's concern with driving a vehicle with a safety defect. The manufacturer offered no further assistance was offered. While travelling at approximately 50 - 55 mph on a highway a deer had ran across the road, in order to avoid a collision head on with the deer I took an evasive maneuver and unfortunately collided with the guardrail on the drivers side at approximately 40 - 50 mph. Impacting the entire drivers side of my vehicle. However, no airbag deployment occurred with side curtain airbags and vehicle is now considered a total loss for insurance purposes due to damage and as well as a possible airbag system malfunction in the vehicle.

While parking into a parking space that faces a supermarket building, with my foot on the brake, the car suddendly accelerates at an unkown speed , while I am stepping harder on the brake , and the car is not responding crashing into a parking barrier pole finally making the car stop inches from the wall where people go in and out of the supermarket, I was screaming the whole time while being pushed rapidly at an unkown speed feeling helpless and scared, the car side aribags deployed on the right side of the vehicle making the vehicle all full of smoke inside. This is a complaint of a concerned victim for a fault that the kia optima hybrid has, so it can be addressed before people are hurt, or killed out there needlesly.
