Exterior Lighting Problems of Kia Motor RIO

This is neither a failure nor a malfunction but on several occasions I have had the light switch turn off at night while driving. I can reach over and push a button to the left of the steering wheel under the ac/heat vent and in doing so my arm has rolled the headlight switch off. I have to hurry up and turn them back on. The switch should lock somewhat in place as to take a purposeful twist for it to turn. The headlight switch turns too easy and it could cause an accident at night.

The passenger headlight has water inside it, and water vapor. The connections for the light blubs is corroding.

Marker lights on the right side won't work both went off line and licence light same side is out same time and bulbs ,fuse replaced and still not working the kia service will not fix in kia of manharttan in kansas andi have 68,000 miles and they didn't offer a basic warrantty to be long when online for my my car and suppose to be under warranty for 110;00.

Excessive oil consumption 1 quart every 1000 miles. The brake light socket overheats causing fast bulb burn outs.

When I purchased this vehicle, I had to replace all 4 rear led tail lights. Now 2 years later I have to replace the right rear led side tail light. These led lights should not be going out this soon. Why can't kia recall this part. This is a safety issue that I should not be replacing this soon.

A couple of days ago, air-bag warning light became on during driving. I tried to disconnect the battery but it won't go away. Nothing happened so far. No accident, no damage, and etc.

On two occasions my vehicle (in motion) has gotten smoke, I smelled burnt, and it was electric shock when I touched the board, I have already reported it to the agency that corresponds to me, however they have not solved my problem, I am afraid that it could burn my vehicle, my phone number is 11 52 1 8341245605.

Head lights flicker on and off and then stays off. Forcing me to turn off and back on the lights manually with the switch to get them to come back on then repeat. . They turn of and I struggle to keep them on and I travel for work and allot of night time driving. Very frustrating and other drivers think I'm flashing them. Very unsafe and kia dealership would not fix it unless I pay them to fix it. My car has 23,000 miles at the moment problem started last year around 12,000 miles but age is past factory warranty. It does not matter if I'm driving or it's parked lights/wiring has a problem. This is a very serious safety issue that kia refuses to fix.

Whenever car is running would here a knocking or rattling sound,had too replace parking light bulbs three times in first year they burnt out and on three other occasions the check engine light would kick on and when I would get car to service center check engine light would go back out and they would want to charge me to run a diagnostic if nothing showed after they ran it also said my warranty wouldn't cover faulty ignition and door lock first my door locks started getting jammed and I assumed that maybe someone had tried to break into car but then my car was in repair shop on a unrelated issue my repair guy calls and tells me my ignition and key are stuck between acc and start and wouldn't come out or turn the rest of the way 0n or off also have had to pay for air filter replacement on car at six months old and the labor because it wasn't part of extended service plan the key then has been little tricky having to put in at a angle kinda and now its stuck again in between acc and start again so repair guy did some searching and found that sometimes if you diconect the neg bat cable it will release the ignition and that it could have something to do with the gear shift not in gauging into park all the way even though the shifter says it is and the shifter wont go up anymore there seems to be one thing after another with this car OH and I also burned myself leaning against front quarter panel but the hood its self was cool to the touch.

I bought my 03 kia Rio in 04 and within a mo. Have had problems ever since. I took it to the dealership every month for the first 2yrs when it was still in warranty. There was always something constantly wrong or breaking. The tail pipe rattled extremely loud to the point of slightly shaking the car, randomly when I would came to a stop. It was so loud that people in other cars could hear it and stare. Of course the repair shops could never find the problem. I finally gave up ever having it fixed. I've paid 7 times to have the auto windows fixed but finally gave up because they would only work about two days before braking again. The car always had issues accelerating and would stain making noises shake a bit then after 10 seconds make a pop pop noise and finally start moving faster. Which again could never be fixed. The car also had horrible suspension. Every little pump made the car bounce and squeak loudly. Also could never be fixed. I think I've spent more time in the shop having the car repaired then I actually did driving it. Every time I blinked something else was broken I replaced almost ever piece of the car; battery twice, all four tires twice, head lights, etc those are just the small things I've also had the car completely brake down about 6 times with major repairs. Now my car is completely dead 4/17/11 the timing belt snapped and destroyed the engine so I have to buy a new engine and timing belt all which cost more then the car itself the car only has 80,000 miles on it so that tells you how much I actually got to drive it in the last 8yrs. I made sure to constantly keep up on maintenance as well. I will never buy a kia again its a weight of my shoulders to get rid of such a piece of [xxx]. Kias are made with such cheap materials and made so poorly that everything on them brakes and falls off. Please anyone reading this don't buy a kia you will regret it.
