general problems of the 2008 Kia Motor Rondo

The contact owns a 2008 kia Rondo. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact noticed a sputtering noise and a hesitation while accelerating. The check engine warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing where the technician stated that a coil would have to be replaced but the contact was not aware of the exact repair needed. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 08v459000 (fuel system, gasoline:storage) that could have been related to the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 65,000.

I have a 2008 kia Rondo, for the past few months I have been having issues when I get gas. It is the 2. 7l engine and when I stop to get gas it won't start. I have to push the gas to get it to crank and then have to hold it down for approximately 2 minutes before it will stay cranked. If I do not keep the gas pressed down for that length of time it cuts off or hesitates then cuts off. I have inquired with the kia dealership about the recall for the 2. 4l engines and was informed that my car did not qualify for that recall. However, my car is having the same issues as the ones that were recalled.
