No compression in cylinder 3 due to oil drainage in spark plug panel caused loss of motive power and almost a wreck so to vehicle shutting down on the interstate . As I look I see that this is in investigation already and needs to be took into consideration as soon as possible if our lives really matter to kia as your customers . So very sad how the engines and fuel systems are on kias.

My vehicle reves up high when I start it and when I'm on the highway it would just cut off and there's gas fumes I smellinside my kia, it also hesitates while driving.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 kia Rondo. The contact stated that while driving down a road the vehicle just stopped. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. A passerby looked at the vehicle and said the issue could have been the fuel pump or the alternator. He banged on the fuel tank a couple of times and the contact was able to drive the the restarted vehicle home. The vehicle was towed an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and found out the issue was with the fuel pump. The VIN tool did not show any recalls on the vehicle. The contact researched the issue online and found many recalls on other vehicles. The contact had tried to call the manufacturer but all lines lead back to roadside assistance and she was unable to speak to a live representative. The contact called a local dealer bill Dodge kia 3 saunders way, westbrook, me 04092 (207) 854-3200 and they initially hung up on the contact. They then stated their website was down and promised a callback. They have not called the contact back at this time. The vehicle was currently still un repaired at this time. The failure mileage was 150,000. Tf.
My engine caught on fire . . . The fire was started near or around the fuel rail/ or injectors. I researched kia recalls and other years and other models of kia's were part of a similar risk. I feel that this was a huge safety risk. . . . Luckily my car engine caught fire very close to my home, and I was able to pull in my driveway and call the fire dept. I was injured in this event. . . . But the burn was minor. I am most concerned with kia acknowledging the huge safety risk. . . . And the loss that I and others could experience with this safety issue. My vehicle was in great shape before this engine fire.
Steering system has experienced a thumping grind on reverse turns when steering wheel is fully engaged. Repaired multiple times by lubing stops. Brake calipers do not engage properly and have been replaced numerous times. Air conditioning drain line is located directly above passenger side engine cradle mounting excess condensation has completely rusted through the cradle and broken apart. Vehicle only has 65,000 miles.
Driving 65 mph on freeway suddenly loses compression to zero mph.
The engine fan keeps running when the car ignition is turned off. This happens intermittently and when it does happen, it drains the battery.
The contact owns a 2007 kia Rondo. While driving approximately 40 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle jerked abruptly and the vehicle continued to move forward at a slower speed. The contact stated that the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The technician diagnosed that the wheel speed and oxygen sensors failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
I was in a car accident and I rear ended an at&t utility truck.
During an inspection of the undercarriage on my kia, an auto mechanic informed me that my oil pan had rusted through and engine oil was seeping through the metal. The cost of parts and labor for a replacement is approximately $250. The service manager of the auto repair garage stated that in his experience this was not an uncommon problem with some kia and Hyundai models. In my opinion, this is a major manufacturing defect. That is, the metal used to manufacture a critical part on the engine (mine is 2. 4 liter/4 cylinder) is defective either in composition or gauge. I've owned vehicles for over 40 years and, prior to this, I've never heard of an oil pan rusting through. As background, I purchased this vehicle new. I'm retired and I do not drive regularly (no commute). Although I live in maine where road salt is used liberally on roads, I have avoided driving in winter storms whenever possible.
While driving down the road at the indicated speed limit of 35 miles per hour, there was a loud thump and then my car stopped. Immediately, I was terrified. I didn't know what was going on. Someone pulled over to help me and I eased my car over to the side of the road with persons manually pushing the car because it would not start back up. I called for assistance and was towed home. Upon getting the car home, I was told that the engine is dead. I was shocked. I was told that I would end up having to replace the entire engine and that could be very expensive. My problem is that I was getting regular scheduled maintenance on the vehicle to include oil changes. I have no idea how a engine just blows like that without no warning light (electrical problem) coming on or anything. I just could not believe this. I started to do some research. I found several reports that the engine died in kia Rondo models. I contacted kia to ask them if they had looked into this since so many reports have been made. They informed me that they do not have to do anything because the NHTSA has not told them they had to. I then asked what about safety. I also said that this can cause fatalities because had I been on the highway and my car just stopped like that, I don't know what could have happened. This issue is occurring too often in this model of vehicle. And to be honest I think kia is aware of this because they actually stopped making this model. Something needs to be done. What am I to do about my transportation now that this engine is dead??? kia needs to answer for this.
When I am driving and I hit water or slush on the road way at times my car will loss all power steering and breaking and the lights for the battery and other systems lights come on. It sometimes last for 10 second to 20 seconds. This cause my car to be unsafe for driving because all at one time you lose so much control.
Two times my engine died while driving in icy whether. This occurred when the wheels were spinning, it sounded as if some system was trying to stop the spin. The first time I was driving approx. 25 miles per hour on level ground. The second time, approx. Two to four weeks later also in icy conditions on level ground, incident occurred when driving in reverse. That time I intentionally applied the gas hard to test try to get the tires to spin, and the car died within one second of leaving park. I anticipate this will happen again and hope this does not happen during rush hour when I feel there is a high probability I will get in an accident if I am unable to pull off the road.
I was driving my 2007 kia Rondo at highway speed with the cruise control on when the engine speed revved up dramatically-as if the transmission had disengaged. Stepped on the brakes, cruise disengaged and engine slowed. Around the same time, noticed the abs and esc off lights would come on intermittently, stay on, then not come on. At slow speed turns after the car set for a while, the abs would engage on dry pavement (without light) and car did not slow normally. Went to dealer, who said the issue was a brake light switch, which was replaced and vehicle taken for a test drive. When I picked the car up, both the abs and esc off lights were off, but came on within minutes of leaving the lot. Later that night, abs started acting up again-once without even stepping on the brake pedal. Taking the car back to dealer tomorrow to see what is going on. Only learned of stop light switch recall by web search.
Air compressor bad causing overheating in passengers.
Air conditioning system - the ac cluch has been wining and will need to be replaced at 72,000. It is now out of warrenty 60,000/5 years. $715 to rebuild clutch or $1100 for new ac compressor.
Driving on the highway was about to exit off when my kia Rondo stopped out of nowhere. The engine just went then I looked back to see if the was any oil that came out and there was oil spilled on the exit ramp.
Ac compressor failure. I see several forum online of customers with the same problem. Compressor will run fine for 15 minutes then blows hot air. I took the car back once before directly after purchase because it made a lot of noise when the ac was running. They said it was 'normal'. It also blows a white cloud back into the car that trigger my asthma.
