My check engine light is on. When I refuel my vehicle it has difficulty restarting. Over the course of the last couple months, it has started to stall. Looking at forums I found quite a few people with the same "issue" but no solutions. I have had my vehicle on a diagnostic machine and it comes back with an evap code. The codes have been cleared but come right back on. I see the fuel pump has been recalled, I have had my car since the fall of 2009 and to my knowledge I haven't had this repaired, but for some reason this does not show up when I do the recall search. Has it already been repaired prior to my purchasing the vehicle?.

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 kia Rondo. The contact stated that while driving down a road the vehicle just stopped. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. A passerby looked at the vehicle and said the issue could have been the fuel pump or the alternator. He banged on the fuel tank a couple of times and the contact was able to drive the the restarted vehicle home. The vehicle was towed an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and found out the issue was with the fuel pump. The VIN tool did not show any recalls on the vehicle. The contact researched the issue online and found many recalls on other vehicles. The contact had tried to call the manufacturer but all lines lead back to roadside assistance and she was unable to speak to a live representative. The contact called a local dealer bill Dodge kia 3 saunders way, westbrook, me 04092 (207) 854-3200 and they initially hung up on the contact. They then stated their website was down and promised a callback. They have not called the contact back at this time. The vehicle was currently still un repaired at this time. The failure mileage was 150,000. Tf.

I have 2007 kia Rondo. I purchased this used in 2010. In the last 2 years I have had to replace my fuel pump 3 times. It just stops working. I have dealer parts on my car and keep track of all services done to my car. It will just stop pumping fuel even though it sounds ad if pump is coming on. This has to be a defect because I have never had to replace the fuel pump on 3 times on any car I have ever owned. This really needs to be investigated as I've just replaced it again on July 18,2016.

The fuel pump assembly stop working, it would only work long enough to get it moving then stall. This is a hazard because it can stall in the middle of the road.
Purchased a 2007 kia Rondo from concord Honda, concord, n. C. Sept. ,2014. Vehicle had only approx. 56,000 miles on it. While driving car started jerking forward and back. While coming to a stoplight or stop sign and decelerating(letting your foot off the the gas pedal) the engine would stall, then you could start the engine right back up. Now at 75,000 miles car will not keep running everytime you stop. Engine light has come on,extended start and no acceleration. . . When you push accelerator it does not accellerate. Had engine light code checked and dealer tech diagnose is that here again it is the the fuel pump!!! cost to replace is $650. 00 plus tax. . . Factory deffective. . . . Somebody wake up !!!!!.
Vehicle was taken to premiere kia of kenner, and also contacted kca/irvine 7:40am call; issue car sputters when gas pedal applied; car does not start after fueling, requires multiple starts; car stalled twice on hwy Nov. 20, 2014 issues began. Kia dealer representative refused service of NHTSA campaign recall # 08v459000 recall date sept. 17, 2008, subsequently contacted kia consumer affairs in irvine, CA. Call center the phone call outcome csr stated would contact the local district manager for approval of recall would expedite process, csr stated would contact local dm within two hours and get back; received denial letter in mail. Recalls shows 6,680 “potential units affected for this recall 08v459000 fuel pump sub assembly, whereas campaign recall # 12v014000 shows 145,755 units affected for “airbag clock spring assembly” and recall # 13v114000 shows 623,658 units affected for “stop lamp switch may function intermittently. ” on the surface seems kia is only including full recalls for vehicles only if it poses the least financial harm to the corporate company profit as shown in the number of recalls of “easy to fix” issues but those such as the fuel pump assembly have the least amount of issued recalls representing a negligible amount of total vehicles. Is kia sacrificing safety for profit with these corporate decisions? kia has denied a recall of the same issues that my vehicle is experiencing as stated in the recall bulletin: “the fuel pump may not supply enough fuel to the engine, causing hard starting, engine hesitation, or other potential impairment. Unusually severe hesitation or other impairment could expose the driver to the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the fuel pump sub-assembly with an updated part. ” kia has neglected to resolve faulty issue. Please advise kia to rectify the situation by repairing the faulty fuel pump assembly.
The fuel pump is not operating properly resulting in not enough fuel getting to the engine. Poor engine starting and engine hesitation. The check engine light is on because of this.
In 2010, check engine light came on. The vehicle would not restart after refueling. I would have to pump the gas before the car would restart and it would make sounds and the rpm will rev. I had a diagnosis performed by several mechanics but unable to detect what was causing the problem. Had guesstimates as to O2 sensors, fuel pump to canisters replacement. This has gone on since 2010. Currently, the car does not turn over on the first attempt after fueling. I took car in to the dealership and was told that I needed to replace the fuel pump assembly. As I researched the recommended repair, I learned that kia recalled other 2008 Rondo's, so I called them and was told that my vehicle is a v6 and not part of the recall campaign. I am having the same problem as the vehicles in the recall campaign and think that this matter should be further investigated.
