Vehicle Speed Control Problems of Kia Motor Rondo

No compression in cylinder 3 due to oil drainage in spark plug panel caused loss of motive power and almost a wreck so to vehicle shutting down on the interstate . As I look I see that this is in investigation already and needs to be took into consideration as soon as possible if our lives really matter to kia as your customers . So very sad how the engines and fuel systems are on kias.

My Rondo speeds up while I'm driving it on the road, and it smells of gas inside my Rondo, it runs high when I start it and there's a hesitation before it drives.

My vehicle reves up high when I start it and when I'm on the highway it would just cut off and there's gas fumes I smellinside my kia, it also hesitates while driving.

First problem, when the car is in motion the ecs light turns on and when while driving my kia Rondo feels unstable like I am going to loose control of the stirring wheel. Second problem, when ever it rains my kia will stall while in motion, loose power, engine lights come on and stops in the middle of any streets, highways or freeways and the steering wheel get so hard to turn the car to a safety place.

I was driving down the freeway at 70 mph when my check engine light illuminated and I immediately lost speed control. My speed began a quick decent to 25 mph. The car would not pick up at all. I made it to the side of the road and turned off the car. I called my husband, he asked a bunch of questions and had me restart the car. The check engine light was still on, but the car accelerated normally so I headed toward home. It happened again. I pulled over, waited and restarted the car. My husband had me go to the auto parts store to have the code read. I have attached pictures of the printouts that include the codes and definitions. I looked up the issue and see across car repair forums that this is a widespread issue with kia vehicles. It's time for NHTSA to force a recall. Corporations would rather pay a wrongful death/injury fine than voluntarily make widespread repairs to mechanisms they know are faulty. Protect our interests; the safety of drivers, our loved ones, the roads and our livelihoods- if I can't get to work reliably, I won't have a job. Why should I have to pay for expensive repairs when the product is faulty across the board. Force a recall.

I was pulling into driveway when I started to back up to straighten myself up so that I could pull straight up into the driveway. And when I took my foot off the pedal, the pedal was stuck causing me to accelerate at about 60mph. My car went over a tree stump resulting in me crashing into the neighbors house. While this was happening, the brakes would not properly work.

I was in an accident caused by unexplained and unexpected acceleration. While braking, and turning into a parking spot behind my offce building, the car accelerated so quickly and unexpectedly the car jumped the park curbs and hit the building with enough force to break through the cinder block wall while only traveling approximately 10 feet. I went from coasting in with my foot on the brake at about 3-5 mph, to an open throttie full forward thrust, all the time I was derpressing the brake. At some point the accelerator pedal broke entirely off. I can only assume that the broken accelerator caused the car to open throttle like it did.

On several occasions in the past month while driving, my kia Rondo stops responding as I attempt to accelerate. It has caused me to block traffic and could cause a serious accident. I took it to a local repair shop and they were unable to diagnose the problem. At this point I am afraid to drive the car as I am afraid of causing an accident. There is another problem which has been occurring for several months- driving through a puddle or any standing water causes th car to screech and make a loud grinding noise and causes a total loss of steering. This happens every time the roads are wet. It is so unsafe that I never drive in less than dry road conditions.

The brake lights on my 2008 kia Rondo have not been working consistently. I have been told by several individuals who were driving behind me in the past few days that my brake lights are "out". However, they did work when I checked at one point after the warning and then another driver told me the same thing. I replaced the lights and now they do not work at all. I have checked the fuses and the fuses have not blown. I have seen a "recall" for an earlier year kia. The same thing is happening to my kia. My kia should be included in the "recall". This could cause a serious crash. I have no idea if the lights will work or not. Right now, they do not. Kia has too, too many problems with its vehicles to even argue against my point. This is far from the only dangerous issue that I have with my kia. At this point, I am simply fed up. I called Kia Motors and spoke to a customer service representative and asked how to make a formal complaint because I received two "voluntary service campaign" notices; one for the air bag and one for the rear cross-member of the car. I am facing problem after problem with this car. The other issues are surging of the car without pressing on the gas and even while pressing on the brake and the air conditioner failing right after the warranty ended. Kia needs to be reprimanded and forced to fix these cars. Additionally, it is a serious conflict of interest to have kia customer service employees responsible for sending notifications of problems with kia cars to the nhsta. Who oversees that this is done honestly by the car companies?.

The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who performed a diagnostic and located the failure at the throttle body position sensor, as well as the accelerator sensor pump control module. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and the vehicle was repaired. The throttle control and the accelerator sensor pump control module were replaced. Accelerator is "drive by wire". The engine experiences hesitation, when taking off from a stop, about 50% of the time, when the ac is on. Sometimes the vehicle begins to accelerate, then the engine drops to idle speed, even when you depress the pedal to the floor. This can cause you to be struck by oncoming traffic, when you are entering a highway or roadway. Usually the vehicle will then take off unexpectedly screeching the tires, when this occurs. But, sometimes, when it does begin to accelerate after one of these occurrences, it will very slowly begin to pick up speed, as if it is starving for gas. This could also put you in danger of being struck from oncoming traffic. These occurrences are worse, when the air conditioning is on. Sometimes, when you are taking off from a stop and putting very little pressure on the accelerator pedal, the car takes off abruptly, squealing the tires as if you had depressed the pedal to the floor suddenly. When the pavement is wet, this will cause the tires to spin and then the engine will drop to an idle, leaving you susceptible to being struck from oncoming traffic. The dealer has told me there is nothing wrong with the vehicle, even after the "mechanic" rode with me and said he could feel it accelerating in steps. These occurrences of dropping to idle speed, unexpectedly, may occur only once in two months or they may occur two or three times in one week. Hotter outside air temperature seems to cause the problem to worsen.
