Owner finally told me on a March 17 2025 phone call he kept my title as a vested interest after I paid it off full in our contract agreement 8 months after the contract was signed the dealership operated in a criminal civil rico fashion with me and is and has been extremely uncooperative with since I have been demanding all the original contracts for both vehicles , on February 20 while reviewing documentation that I was told was my title release forms I noticed a difference in dates they had me sign and date at the bottom 12/13/24 but the top of of the document it had a date of 12/2/2024 I didn’t realize this at first because they had me so confused about the van deal the truck title it seemed very systematic and intentional like they were purposely trying to confuse me about both contracts and my title it’s been a nightmare since then please please please some one help my my mind and body are suffering because of this information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2019

Will not engage reverse gear and drive gears sometimes will not shift at higher speeds.

3 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

Tl the contact owns a 2006 kia Sedona. The contact stated that the esc warning indicator flashed, the vehicle failed to shift in and out of gear, and the brake lights frequently failed to turn off. The manufacturer indicated that the vehicle was excluded from a manufacturer recall, and provided no solution other than taking the vehicle to the dealer (university kia, 6519 university dr NW, huntsville, al 35806, (256) 217-1700) for diagnostic testing and repair. The contact was to order the part and determine who may repair the vehicle. The failure mileage was not available.

4 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2016

The struts mounts had rusted apart. So had to have strut, springs, mounts, sway bar link pins, front struts, plates had to be replaced. Whatever happened suddenly loosened my steering wheel also so could not turn well. The wheel had to be turned almost all the way around to turn a corner. What happened I was turning and a loud pop happened there had been no warning and luckily I was able to get home. On my vehicle this is the second time I had a failure suddenly. Kia did repair the control arms last year when they failed. The corrosion is an issue because if I had been at highway speed I would have had serious problems.

5 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2014

After parking vehicle, went to exit and could not remove ignition key. Key turned off vehicle but would only go as far accs, which means while motor was not running, power was still on. Made sure dash indicator was in park, yet could not remove key. Spoke to a locksmith and added lube to around ignition key without any results. Left inside semi-heated garage overnight in case of frozen components without results. While dash indicator seemed to show proper gear selections, while in park, key could not removed, steering wheel would not lock, and vehicle could be moved forward and backward by manual pushing, in the meantime it was using up the battery. Kia dealership determined "shifter assembly failure", and after $600+ and 6 days for the special ordered part, vehicle was returned, but the failed part was returned to the supplier for a core charge. So if vehicle was parked in a parking lot and ignition key cannot be removed the car could be stolen, if parked on an incline car could roll away because it's truly not in park, and or your battery is dead. There was prior warning of any failure and owned since new.

6 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/05/2009

Problems with stalling and rough shifting. This van has been in the shop 10 or more time for the same problem. It has been serviced at capital kia in austin, texas all 10 times. The transmission has been replaced 2 times, the main computer has been replaced. Air sensor replaced. The list goes on and on. My service advisor is gene. While he has been helpful he is limited on what he can do. I have called corporate several times and they have advise the service technicians on what to fix but the van is still not working. We need help in getting rid of the van.

7 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2006

I purchased a 2006 kia Sedona in August, 2006. On 08-14-2006 it was returned for malfunction of the airbag system, repairs were made. I also stated to them that it was pulling to the left, which to this day they have not corrected. On 11-13-2006 at approx. 3,300 miles the engine light came on, the van began to sputter and cut out. It was towed to the dealer( misfire in cyclinder)and repairs were made. The van was returned to the dealer again on 01-03-2007(scanned system, could not find code),01-18-2007(multiple misfires),02-08-2007(random misfires. Also repaired shorted out hot wire to driver's side parking light),04-09-2007(they stated that the gas cap was loose, even though the van is skipping),04-12-2007 (random misfires). After sending a final repair attempt letter to kia they picked my vehicle up on 04-23-2007 and brought techs in from California to assess the problem. I was going to pick my van up on Thursday 04-26-2007 but kia called and stated that after they test drove it the engine light once again came on. They stated that they hope to have it resolved on 04-27-2007. On 04-27-2007 they hope to have it resolved on 04-30-2007. On 04-30-2007 they hope to have it resolved on 05-01-2007. On 05-01-2007 they stated that they would be pulling out the drive train to ship to California and in turn kia/California would be shipping a new one. Now they hope to have it resolved on Friday, may 4, 2007. I have major safety concerns/issues regarding this vehicle. There is obviously severe electrical/mechanical problems and this vehicle is not stable/safe enough to be roadworthy. The people at the dealership are wonderful and understanding to my concerns, however Kia Motors of America does not seem to address the safety issues as a concern. I am still pursuing this issues between myself and kia, but this is way too much hassle to go through to try to keep myself, my family and other motorist safe against this vehicle being on the road.
