I went to the dealer kia orisman on June 22 in the morning. You will inform me that you have to make an order for part. I called after a week and the part had not arrived. It's been two weeks and you still won't call me. I want to sell my car and I can't.

Received a recall notice from kia dated 4/8/20 stating hydraulic electronic control unit, which controls esc, tsc and anti-lock brake system, remains energized when vehicle is turned off and an electrical short circuit increases the risk of engine compartment fire even when car is turned off. The parts are not currently available to fix this. In the meantime, I am to park my vehicle outdoors away from other vehicles and structures. I called my local kia dealership to inquire if they knew when the repair would be available and they did not even know of its existence. The service department said kia blows things out of proportion and scares people and they have no idea when and if the repair parts will be in. This is an unacceptable response. Kia needs to communicate with the dealerships about this problem and they need to fix it as soon as possible to avoid injury to consumers. I am left with a van that has the risk of catching on fire. I do not know if it is only when the vehicle is turned off or I am at risk when I am driving the van. Due to being laid off from the current covid 19 crisis, I am not in a position to buy or rent a new car. Also, there is no place to park my car in my home where it is not near another vehicle or structure. I also tried calling kia's consumer assistance center, but the number listed on the letter connects me with roadside assistance and there is no connection for recall information.
Recall on vehicle with no remedy in the foreseen future. Kia dealership said they don't know if it will get fixed. This recall could cause the vehicle to catch fire and they recommend parking in a place that's safe for this to happen.
I had issues putting in park and then getting out of park. Disconnected battery cable to turn off vehicle. Battery seemed dead but had battery checked out it's fully good. Now my abs, battery, brake, esc lights all came on and vehicle has no power. Seems like it could be brake-tramission shift interlock problems?.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 kia Sedona. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 mph the contact pressed the brake however, the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact placed an abnormal amount of pressure on the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated forward and than came to an abrupt stop. The failure recurred and the vehicle began to smoke with an abnormal odor from the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer and diagnosed. The vehicle is inoperable. The manufacuturer was not made aware of the failure. 12/26/2015 the approximately failure mileage was unknown. Gl.

Wont start off ignition switch dealer dont know what it may be and my esc light come and goes and car dont wont to accelrate.
The contact owns a 2006 kia Sedona. The contact stated that when the brake was applied, the vehicle would shake violently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failure. The dealer replaced the rotors, but the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 80,000. Updated 1/20/12 updated 03/05/12.
The turn signals work intermittently and probably only work 15% of the time, however beginning about 2 years ago the bulbs have never both worked at the same time (meaning when you turn the switch to the left the left signal will turn on but when you then turn the switch to the right it does not work). The bulbs have been changed several times yet this never fixes the problem. The turn signal bulbs have actually only been burned out one time, proving there is some form of a short. All of the other lamps, whether it be head lamps (low or high beam), fog lights, tail lights, running lights, reverse light or tag lights, keep burning out bulbs. Every 6 weeks I'm having to replace a bulb. This is so dangerous not to mention expensive! with as many complaints as there has been posted due to this very same issue, I do not understand why kia has not found/created a solution for these issues. This really makes me not want to purchase another kia vehicle. Also, I've had intermittent problems with one of the electric sliding side doors. One door will not close on it's own. If you pull gently to get it started closing, it will then close the rest of the way by itself. There's nothing internally blocking the release pin from disengaging. This problem just started about 2 months ago.
We own a 2006 kia Sedona, purchased used. The esc and abs indicators on the dash go on randomly on a regular basis. We have not addressed it yet with the dealer. Once the car is turned off and on again, the indicator goes away, but will eventually come back on.
Problems: air bag light on again. Has been repaired by dealer several times. Ac does not blow cold continually and has been repaired several times. New compressor, additional freon, etc. Horn malfunctioning again. Transmission problem - the vehicle "bangs or slams" when you come down a hill to a stop. When slowing down to a stop light it actually has a surge or acceleration. This vehicle only has 64000 on it and the brakes have been serviced several times (front and rear). Now when I am driving I get a terrible grinding feeling - and at a higher speed on the highway when you go to slow down faster it vibrates terribly. Also the braking is terrible at higher speeds. Also had problems with the actuator repair/replaced several times, horn not sounding properly, air bag light (repaired several times), cruise control issues (won't maintain speed - accelerates or decelerates), battery or electrical issues (told to replace battery which I did & paid for), headlight issues (have replaced lights several times), vibration on highway (new tires and tires have been rebalanced. Alignment done). After reviewing multiple websites on kia reviews, these above items are very common experiences for kia Sedona owners. I wanted to make you aware of these items since I feel that if consumers do not notify the authorities nothing will be corrected or known. I have really noticed in the last few months, almost immediately after passing the warranty mark, the vehicle has taken a turn for the worse and problems seem to be escalating.
The brakes on my 2006 kia Sedona is pulsing and shaking. This is especially true when going down hill and applying the brakes.
No incident. Brakes on 2006 kia Sedona are undersized and over heat. They need replaced ever 20,000 miles and rotors turned every 12,000 to 15,000 miles. They become hot during use and warped over time very quickly.
The contact owns a 2006 kia Sedona. Upon starting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the headlights and turn signals were inoperative. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the headlights were replaced. The failure continued approximately 15 times. After each failure, the contact either replaced the lights herself or had them replaced at a local repair shop. The contact also began to hear scraping noises whenever she applied the brakes. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop where the brakes were replaced twice. The contact also stated that the steering wheel shook while she was driving approximately 65 mph. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000 and the current mileage was 56,453.
Received recall notice, called to have part replaced and shop manager said he ordered parts but didn't know when or if they would come in, recall notice says we may be at risk for crash. This vehicle has had a lot of recalls plus cant keep brakes or rotors on it. Definatly a lemon. Will try to persuade anyone not to buy a kia.
Lter from constituent complaint and demand for action re her 2006 kia Sedona which without warning shut-down due to a catastrophic engine failure. The dealer stated the engine failure was due to sludge build-up. Prior to the engine failure, the consumer stated the brakes were vibrating, noisy and the vehicle was pulling to the right. It was recommended that the brakes and all of the tire be replaced. The dealer also recommended as alignment. The transmission would slip when shifting fro first to second gear. The dealer had to order an input sensor.
2006 kia Sedona - front brake rotors replaced at 8000 miles due to warping, at 16000 miles front rotors again warped and require replacement. Not covered under manufacturer warranty because of more that 12 months since rotors were first replaced. This will now be the third set of front rotors on this vehicle in two years and less than 20,000 miles.
