The contact owns a 2007 kia Sedona. The contact stated that he initially received a recall notice for his vehicle for NHTSA campaign number: 20v088000(electrical system, service brakes, hydraulic). A year after the recall was serviced, the contact stated that while his wife was driving at 55 mph, a grayish smoke began to emit from the hood of the vehicle. His wife let the vehicle cool down for some time and was able to restart the vehicle and drive home without incident. The contact, who is a mechanic, then drove the vehicle to his dealer for an inspection and discovered that water had enter the ebcm(electronic brake control module) which cause the module to corrode. He also discovered that both fuses in under hood fuse block had blown which caused the smoke to emit from the vehicle. Upon replacing the fuses, the same initially failure had occurred where the vehicle began smoking and both replacement fused had blown in the engine. The contact then spoke with the dealer where the recall was performed and they gave him a diagnostic fee to inspect the vehicle. The contact then reached out to the manufacturer where he was given a case number but had yet to receive a follow up call from the manufacturer. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 135,701.
