Right passenger slide door on minivan opened while my son was in the car and would not close. There is a recall on this and extended 15 year warranty but kia wouldn’t honor the electronic controller that burnt out but warranted the motor. Passenger can fall out or something can hurt them. Kia dealer confirmed this and I had to pay a large repair bill for there recall defect. I am afraid to take the car anywhere except local. I feel there recall repair caused this problem. First I took it in for the recall. Next time I used that door it got stuck open. Vehicle is garaged with approximately 30,000 miles on it.
Tl- the contact owns a 2011 kia Sedona. The contact stated that the rear passenger's door handle broke when a child attempted to open the door. Also, the power door lock did not open in hot weather and the driver's side door opened automatically when the window was wound down. There was no warning. The vehicle was taken to the grieco kia of delray beach (866-858-7513, located at 2255 s federal hwy, delray beach, FL 33483) where the door handle was replaced. The failure recalled. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to repair one door. The doors were not all repaired. The failure mileage was 81,500. Fe.
The doors will not latch and randomly open while driving! this is a severe safety hazard as my kids are passengers in the van.
All 4 doors on my kia Sedona are now not opening from the outside. They stick really bad and it feels as if I pull any harder that that he handles will break off. I have 101k miles on the car so it is outside of its warranty. After looking online, this seems to be a huge issue with kia's made around this same time. This is a huge safety concern because it is prohibiting me from entering or exiting the car and posses serious issues with safety of a child in the car.
