Three problems related to front seat belt anchorage have been reported for the 1997 Kia Motor Sephia. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was involved in an accident with a speed of 40 mph, the air bags did not deploy and the seat belts did not lock, the vehicle was totalled, the police report states that there were no injuries, consumer states that the air bag sensor had been replaced the day before the accident.
Rear passenger's seat belt detached from wall mount upon suddenly stopping vehicle, injuring child's head. Upon inspecting the rear driver's side belt, discovered the same connector piece was coming unattached.
