Transmission Noise problems of the 1997 Kia Motor Sephia

Two problems related to transmission noise have been reported for the 1997 Kia Motor Sephia. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2001

While driving about any mph vehicle will suddenly accelerate without a prior warning. Consumer will step on brakes pedal to stop acceleration, but vehicle will not stop, and concerned about fact of an accident. Transmission failed. Brakes make noise due to rotor failure. Wiper blades failed. Battery failed.

2 Transmission Noise problem

Failure Date: 03/14/1998

The brakes and rotors were excessively worn outand replaced twice. Tansmission faild causing, loud knocking noise and new transmission was replaced. Left axle failed and replaced. The battery went out. The vehicle failed to start.
