1 Wiring problem

Doors fail to open from the outside of vehicle. Headlight wiring harness will melt wiring for the light bulb and kill the lightbulb. Driver seat feels loose, however the bolts are as tight as they will go.

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

tamara recall I was traveling up the interstate slightly uphill at 55 miles an hour when I begin to lose power\speed and before I could get it to the shoulder it lost all power to gather and smoke started coming in the ac vent when I got it stopped and open the hood it was burning at the back right hand side of the motor on some wiring harness I was able to put the fire out I later was told that it had thrown a rod and was most likely the cause of the fire.

3 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2019

I was driving down the interstate slightly uphill. At about 55 mph when my Sorento began to loose power/speed. Before I could pull off onto the shoulder smoke began coming in through the a. C vents. When I reached the shoulder and opened the hood the back right end of the motor was on fire from the wiring harnesses. I was able to put out the fire. Upin a mechanic looking at it I was told it had thrown a rod and most likely the fire.

4 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 03/22/2019

My vehicle has continuously melted wiring harness after wiring harness that run my headlights. Not sure if this happens while in motion or stationary, I just notice it when I am down to one headlight. This has become very dangerous because I constantly have to drive in the dark with one headlight. Also it really scares me that my vehicle is melting wires that connect to other wires that could easily cause a fire!.

5 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2019

I was driving down a road at night with my family and I notice that the lights went out completely in a dark road which scared me because everything went completely black I quickly tried to pull over almost going into a ditch in fear that I might hit something or someone. I tried flicking on the headlights and I know that they would come on and then go off. I also notice that my call battery was drained im assuming in may be a short in the wiring.

6 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/20/2018

Low beam assembly wiring on both low beams has melted. This has been reported in numerous car blogs as a known issue.

7 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2018

Both low headlight bulbs have gone out many times. Despite being replaced, they continue not to work. The wiring seems to have a short in it because when it is wiggled the light comes on but goes right back out. The socket is very hot to touch and smells hot. I'm afraid the wiring will cause a fire. This has happened to both front low beam lights. Most recently today to the passenger side light. I currently have two non workable low lights.

8 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2017

For several months now, the dashboard warning lights have come on, usually four at a time as I'm driving. It seems to happen most often when it's raining. I had the kia dealer in las cruces, nm try to determine the problem when I had the car in for a couple recalls about two years ago. They could not determine the cause of the problem. About 3 months ago I had a shop with a aaa master mechanic try to determine the problem and they also could not determine the reason the warning lights were coming on. They could not find a short in the wiring that I thought might be the cause. The lights eventually go off, usually after the car has not been driven for several hours or overnight. I'm concerned that, although I've not experienced significant problems when the dash warning lights come on, could a possible real safety issue occur if one of the systems indicated by the lights actually malfunction? for a while when the lights came on, the car's steering seemed to be effected--on windy curvy roads the car would definitely over steer on curves, as though someone else were in control. I would appreciate any information you might have on similar problems and how they were corrected. Thank you.

9 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2015

The bulbs for the low beam headlights have been "burning out" at the rate of once a month. Last month, the entire assembly plugin to the bulb was melted due to "a poor contact" or short in the wiring". Unfortunately they said I need an entire headlight assembly (about a $400 part and $250 labor) as they won¿t just sell the connection plug. Frustrated I found a great mechanic who cut and spliced a new connection plug and it seems to be working. However the concern is that there is still a "short" in the wiring and will eventually do the same thing to the new plug. I have now had the same issue with the other side and am hoping that someone else has found the source of the problem. The other complaint is that this is not covered by the any warranty. There have been numerous complaints about this isse and I stillhave not seen a recall from kia. This is my 2nd kia and I am rethinking about buying another unless this issue is resolved.

10 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 09/17/2014

The interior dome light quit working took to a mechanic, he looked into the wiring harness and said that all the wires had melted together. This problem could affect all the electrical parts of the truck. Also of note is that the truck indicator light showing that the truck is open, even when its not. So far no fire has started. Cost to fix per the mechanic is over $1000, or more.
