I have now replaced the headlight bulbs in my 2016 kia Sorento 6 times and it's getting worse as it gets older. I believe it is a safety issue since the last time I was out of town, traveling in the middle of the night when it went out. I had to wait until morning to find an auto parts store to buy and replace the bulb. No inspections have been done by anyone. Yes, the warning lamp comes on and stays until reset.

I own a 2016 Sorento sxl awd and this issue just started. I work evening shift and get off at 11pm. I always have the lights set to "auto", while driving home on a rural road at night and the headlights switch off on their own. I have to manually switch the lights off and back to auto for them to come back on. Potentially dangerous situation and kia should issue a recall. Can find any recall but have done research and find it is an on going issue seems be be a multi function switch.

While driving at night the headlights will go out. It has done so several times in the past. It is very scary when it happens on the freeway. Also the brake lights, specifically the drivers side, will stop working about every 2 weeks or so. I replace it and shortly after, it will stop working.

I am having an issue with my kia headlights when on dim. The lights are so dim I am afraid to drive the car at night because I am scared I will hit a person, animal or object. I am replacing light bulbs frequently. Cars are flashing their lights at me (when I need to drive at night) because of the dimness. I took my car to a kia dealer and they could not diagnosis the problem. They advised to replace the entire headlight assembly with a cost of $2,600. 00. I am on social security and can't afford to have the repair made. I have read a lot of complaints of other kia lighting issues. I feel a recall should be made immediately due to the seriousness of the issue.

While driving the auto lights shut off and I must turn on lights. This has happened a few times.

At various times the headlights shut off while in "auto" mode. Since it is "auto" mode it is always at night and you suddenly cannot see the road. We have found when this happens that the system goes to the "parking" light mode. Rotating the multi-function switch to a different position other than "auto" and back allows the headlights to come back on. We have not found a pattern in this dangerous event where we are able to repeat the failure.

"auto" mode on headlights sometimes causes the headlights to turn off while in use in dark conditions. Auto mode also sometimes causes the lights not to turn on automatically or turn on randomly, even when the car is not in use and key is not in the ignition. Lights can turn on randomly when not occupied or being driven.

When driving at night with the light switch in auto position, headlight will turn off. Sometimes, turning the switch to off and back to auto will make them work. Sometimes wiggles the switch will make them work. Sometimes you have to switch them to on to make them work.

Did oil change on vehicle about a week ago. A week later checked oil noticed it was a quart low and put more oil in. Next day heard a knocking sound come from engine compartment. Checked oil noticed no oil. No warning lights came on to show I had low oil. Put more oil in took to kia. Kia told me that engine rods are gone and engine is fried. Need new engine and its going to cost me $11,000. No lights or warning system was in place when I bought the car and no one informed me of any update or issue needed to prevent this. Car only has 67000 miles on it so I should still be covered under manufacturing warranty but they are blaming me for the no oil when no idiot lights came to tell me low oil. This is kias fault.

When lights are turned to automatic setting they often turn on during daylight or off at night. They have now turned off while driving at night on unlit roads and highways and we are lucky we did not have an accident. Typically jiggling the knob on light lever will reset the lights to be correct, but this leads to distracted driving often while not being able to see the road.

There was an instance where I was driving in heavy rain and the windshield wipers just stopped working. I had to drive about 5 more miles without them working. They worked the next time it rained a couple of days later. There has been 2 instances in the last week where I have had my car parked in my driveway off and locked. In the middle of the night, the headlights and taillights come on on there own. The headlights setting has been set to auto. I end up having to go out and start and turn off my car, then when I lock it back the lights go off.

Drive side brake light keeps burning out, even after several replacements. The bulb becomes black each time. Not sure if it's related, but headlight will intermittently turn off when in auto light mode, even at night.

This has been an ongoing issue, headlights set in automatic mode will turn off at night with no warning. They will also turn on in direct sunlight. This is an intermittent issue. Have taken to kia service on two separate occasions, told they can not find issue or replicate problem. Have video of lights at night turning completely off set in auto mode. There is no warning when headlights turn off, which has happened to us in the rain and on roads that have no overhead lighting creating very dangerous situations.

Vehicle is consuming an excessive amount of oil, I see this is a common issue with this make and model , even a TSB regarding this issue. Yet, dealership states it is normal. I’m sorry but I have never owned a vehicle where it is normal to have to add 4 qts of oil between oil changes. This is a serious concern for engine wear and tear. I would like to escalate this issue to seek resolution. Another issue I see is both rear window regulators failed at same time. This I believe is due to poor design and low quality parts being used. Plastic pieces are used to hold metal wire in place to raise and lower windows. This plastic easily breaks over time causing windows to fall down suddenly and potentially shatter sending glass and debris in rear passengers. Headlight switch is defective causing headlights to turn off randomly while driving and then not being able to turn back on immediately. Huge safety concern at night.

My headlights go completely out, pitch black, going over 50mph, several times now. I have turned them off the automatic setting as this has happened more than 5 times over the past year. Everything out front goes black including fog lamps, meeting cars, not meeting cars, lights, no lights on the roadway, no rhyme or reason. No warning lights, no sensors covered. My children have been in the car everytime but once. Nobody knows what's going on with it as it happens intermittently and no codes appear.

Occasionally when using the left turn signal the right turn signal will turn on after turning left. Vehicle has not been inspected.

1. Abs system- anti-lock braking system sensors goes out and not working correctly reading which creates safetly hazard in preventing possible collisions 2. Lighting-interior instrument panel-light dims and or goes out completely while driving which creates saftely hazard in vehicle operation. 3. Windshield wiper system and reservior defectives- wiper motor issues and leakage from faulty tubing and reservior leakage issues.

Unknown. The blind spots warning sometimes works and sometimes it doesn’t. The same goes for the backing warning. The car will not lock itself with the key control or manually. This problem has happened a few times already. One of the lights at the driver side isn’t working. (inside light).

While driving down the road both headlights just turn off. I can turn the light switch off and on and they come back on.

The contact owns a 2016 kia Sorento. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 40 mph at dawn, the headlights, side marker lights, and turn signals became inoperable. The vehicle was examined by an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front light module was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 94,000.

There are numerous safety issues I have found with this car I just financed. First, at random many different lights just blow, then on my dash various warning lights will go on and off, on top of that my abs and traction control is off for no reason and so are my passenger air bags. My brakes scream somedays and are touchy others ive replaced the battery twice and only owned it 3 months. I have brand new tires yet the suspension is awful the fuel is going fast and my oil needs changing very often and it is under 100000 miles.

Issues with headlights turning off while I'm driving in the dark. Sometimes happens when I use turn signal other times just driving on a straight road in the dark country. Also transmission slips every so often but enough that passengers notice and want to know what is happening. Now car can not be shifted out of park even with foot on brake and steering will lock up and key can't be turned. Of course dealer says would cost over 1k to check it all out and even with 2 warranties nothing is covered. Please advise me what to do next. Lights have been doing this for at least 4 years. Can't remember on the trans issue for sure. Steering locking up about a year and just recently can't shift.

When I make a left-hand turn, the right-hand signal light will come on as I'm making the turn. My vehicle is available for inspection. This puts me and the drivers around me in immediate danger of an auto accident. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealer for this problem. The vehicle has not been inspected. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to it first appearing three or four months after I purchased the vehicle in may of 2020. I don't want to get rear-ended or accidently pitted because of this problem (especially with passengers in my vehicle).

Car kicks when driving. Oil burns out after oil change. Every week or 2 I have to put oil in. Problem still continues after kicking problem was somewhat fixed. Car still kicks but not as hard today. Engine oil is still burning up quickly.

Sometimes while driving at night with my lights in the auto position, they will turn off for about 5 seconds before coming back on. This is very dangerous and has happened to me while on a dark highway before.

I purchased the car as used in 2019 and no active recalls were listed and still arent. A bout a month later I noticed my low oil pressure light was popping on and off at random intervals while driving on city and rural paved roadsi checked and engine was empty of oil. Oil was replaced and two week later the same thing. My 4th cylinder has now died . The spark plugs were replaced and it was fine for two weeks then stopped working again while I was on the highway. Replaced coil pack but this did not change anything. Upon investigation I found out the engine had been recalled but no evidence or recall was showing for this vehicle. Per website replaced engines have bright orange dip stick for the oil which this vehicle does, but all the problems associated with original recall information exists. I filed complaint with kia only to be directed to a dealership. The front left low beam has burnt out twice within 6 months as well.

Steering- while driving at highway speeds the steering gets tight as if the power steering was out. When you fight to compensate it would normalize causing you to jerk the wheel. I could have easily lost control of the vehicle. Lightning- while driving at night on a dark highway all the light turned off. We were completely in thdark. We pulled over and moved the switch from automatic to the manual light on position. We later moved it back to the automatic position and it was again working properly. Both problems can easily cause you to lose control of the vehicle.

Both headlamps are crystalizing in the far top corners and are continue to spread rapidly. The plastic is rough over the areas and cannot be buffed out or removed with headlamp restore products. Every day this is expanding in area and will lead to headlamps not projecting the light on to the roadway. This is happening in driveway of my home.

I purchased a new 2016 kia Sorento tow package that stated on the invoice it included a mobius part number c6061 adus9 (tow hitch harness) –sorento. They part failed June 2019 and was reported to the kia kearny mesa dealership. They initiated a request for the part and it was not received to date. The kia customer care irvine center said the vehicle was not listed as having the part and therefore I was not entitled to the kia internal recall sc142. (google search c6061 adus9) their explanation was the VIN didn't include the mobius part number c6061 adus9. I emailed a copy of the purchase invoice that showed otherwise. Please force kia to update their build database to include purchased options. This is the second time I have submitted this safety recall.

While driving the car at night the lights will go off. While driving the car in bright daylight the car lights will turn on. The lights are in the "auto" mode. I have video of the daylight issue but not the night. Both corporate and dealership needs to replicate the problem before they can "just change parts". What is it going to take to do a recall? someone to die at night? an accident? this issue has been going on my car @ 40,000, then 51,000 and now at 62,000 miles. They are claiming no longer a warranty item even though it has been in there dealership. There is numerous of these complaints out there, a recall of the k900 was completed for the same issue and same year vehicles.

Kia kearny mesa, CA dealership performed a class iii trailer hitch tow package installation with VIN purchase that included part numbers c6061-adu00 and recalled part number c6061-adus9. The California law required electric brake controller was excluded. I completed the class iii tow package myself for ~$500. 00 parts charge and used it as a legal tow vehicle with a 3000 # RV for about 5 months then experienced the trailer light sc142 failure. I replaced the sc142 recalled part number c6061-adus9 with an etrailer company part number tekonsha 118269 successfully and found out about the recall later. I provided the receipt of dealership installed incomplete tow package part numbers and the etrailer part installed to both the dealership and kia corporate customer care without resolve for over a year. I request the kia dealership and/or kia corporation reimburse $500. 00 parts and current labor costs for neglect to install a complete class iii tow package at time of purchase and denial of reimbursement for recalled part number replacement costs.

My outer light bulb from the passenger side to the main lights is off. I took it to auto zone to buy a new bulb but when they checked it and moved the bulb a bit it turned on. Tech said it's not the bulb but the connector. That they're usually melting not connecting correctly. Ending frying the whole front lights. That it keeps occuring. . I checked for any recalls on my vehicle and none.
