I purchase a 2010 kia Soul ! on 12/31/2009. Soon after I notices how easily the pillars and parts of the door panel became scratched and nicked but the seat belt. Report it to kia USA and was issued a kia consumer # k1695129 and was informed that a fix would be coming in April then in June. I have heard nothing from kia since. The plastic is very soft and can even be damaged by a finger nail. I would like this sub-standard plastic to be replaced.
Tl-the contact owns a 2010 kia Soul. The contact stated that the middle rear seat belt retractor failed and the brakes made a noise when depressed, causing the brakes not to engage at a normal stopping distance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times for the failures however, the dealer did nor perform a diagnostic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage 95,000. Kmj.
