Tl the contact owns a 2012 kia Soul. While driving 35 mph, the contact heard an abnormal noise due to the front hood unlatching on its own and striking the windshield. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to asheboro Nissan (located at 1635 e dixie dr, asheboro, nc 27203, (336) 625-2500) where it was diagnosed that the hood latch failed and the hood needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 155,000.
