Wheel problem #1

I am submitting this complaint to report serious concerns regarding the quality, safety, and reliability of my new kia Soul, as well as the financial burden caused by defects that should not occur on a vehicle with such low mileage. At approximately **8,500 miles**, one of the original tires failed prematurely. I was forced to purchase a used tire to keep the vehicle safely drivable. I had the front alignment inspected, and I was informed that it was within normal specifications, yet the tire issue persisted. Now at *,000 miles**, I am still experiencing abnormal tire wear. Additionally, at *,000 miles**, the vehicle began making **grinding noises when applying the brakes**, which is extremely concerning for a car that is still essentially new. These issues raise questions about the vehicle’s manufacturing quality and whether it meets reasonable consumer expectations for safety and durability. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that it would be reliable and free from major defects. Instead, I am facing unexpected expenses, safety concerns, and ongoing problems that should be covered under warranty. I am now questioning whether I should continue making payments on a vehicle that is already showing signs of significant defects. I am requesting that the ftc review this matter as a potential issue involving product quality, warranty compliance, and consumer protection. I am seeking assistance in ensuring that kia addresses these defects appropriately and that my rights as a consumer are upheld. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Wheel problem #2

Steering makes a clicking noise and will pull either direction while driving straight. I took it to the dealership and they want me to pay for the repair. They state that the problem is the steering coupler. To me this is a safety issue, they said my warranty is expired so they wont cover the cost. I am afraid to drive it. It is also making my tires wear to fast and they are new.

Wheel problem #3

The rims and the rotor have rusted together causing you to use excessive force to remove the lug nut holding on the tire and the nut snaps off.

Wheel problem #4

Engine died on the highway. All of the warning light lit up before the car stalled and eventually died.

Wheel problem #5

While driving on the freeway, last month mid to late Feb, my steering wheel started spinning in one direction,. The control arm on the right side of the vehicle came off of the car's right front wheel and I skidded to the side of the road at approximately 65 to 70 miles per hour. Fortunately, there was not an accident. The control arms were replaced and there were no further incidents. Regardless, given the multiple engine recalls and problems with the kia Soul 2019 2. 0 plus, I have no confidence in it's integrity to the safety standards set. This is not only related to the car, but mostly due to the behavior of the company in its continued efforts to otherwise resist compliance with engine replacement after my mechanic both viewed rod bearings seeing they may impose some risk. (see previous complaint).

Wheel problem #6

Car has an heavy gas smell like when the car is started ,has to crank up and car shakes when it’s started steering is off and etc.

Wheel problem #7

It suddenly didn't want to turn and made me wreck it and bent the tie rods or something.

Wheel problem #8

1. Stationary - a piece of the driver's side suspension spring broke off. My husband went to check what weird noise the car was making when he turned the wheel fully as we were trying to exit our paralleled parking spot in front of our home. When he opened the hood, he looked around and asked me to turn the wheel from so he could hear exactly where the sound was coming from. When he heard it was above the right wheel area, he looked deep, reached in and ended up finding a portion of the spring. A day or two later, both sides are making that noise, though no dislodged portion from the passenger side has been found yet. 2. Stationary when discovered - tire began losing air at a rate which took 1 full day. Had the tire checked for holes, found 1 and repaired it. Next-day however, same problem. Checked again, no holes. Next day the same. Finally brought it to tire sales shop we always use. It was thoroughly examined and a crack was found on the inner side of the wheel, which means it was not from brushing against the curb one too many times. 3. Horn has only ever worked intermittently.

Wheel problem #9

I was driving with my child in the car out of town, when they wheels locked up and the engine made a horrible sound and died. I had to walk to a car rental place to rent. Car. I had my car towed to a local repair shop. I got home and the next day the mechanic called and said I would need a new engine that it blew a head gasket valve. He recommended contacting kia as there have been recalls on this car for this problem. I immediately contacted kia and they said there was a recall on my car and they would pay to have it towed to a local kia dealership. It is still a good two hours from where I live. But they assured me if would be covered as the issue it with head gaskets. It is recal number 2002b. The dealership contacted me and said it isn't covered. I asked why and the service advisor, justin stated the recall had nothing to do with it. No told him what kia headquarters told me. He stated he would print off the recall and speak with his manager and get back with me. The car has 124,000 miles on it. I have done strick maintenance. As a matter of fact I just had the oil changed. My biggest concern is the safety of myself and my daughter when the wheels locked up. Had I need on the interstate I don't know how we would have avoided an accident. Luckily I had taken back roads home and was entering a small town of winder and was only doing 25 miles an hour at the time. No warning lights were on at all. After the engine failed the oil pan light came on and was intermittently going on and off.

Wheel problem #10

Driving on highway 70 and noticed that my tire was getting low. I got off the highway just in time. The tire shop. At 9550 st charles rock rd, breckenridge hills, mo 63114 at 5pm. The two young men came out laughing and one changed my tire. Left the shop and 30 mins later my tire was on flat. Came back the next morning. Young man said he'll fix it. He didn't give me another but stated a nail was in it. He think I'm stupid. He know he sold me a bad tire with the nail in it already. He painted the tire then put it back on my car. I was suspicious about the paint and paint brush. Left the shop and went home. On my way to work the same day almost had two accidents. Tire was hard to steer and the wheel didn't turn. I was scared to death. I could of lost my life 😔. . People need good used tires. Finally I went to car x and they took care of my problem and I felt safe to drive again.

Wheel problem #11

Vehicle keeps pulling. Vehicle pulled to the right. Performed a steering angle relearned, and wheel alignment. Cross rotated tires and now the vehicle pulls to the left. Told nothing else can be done at this time. Car is constantly. Fighting itself with steering assist.

Wheel problem #12

Check engine light continually emits. , code states there is a catalytic converter issue. , tire sensor light continues to emit. , car idles high and shakes continually. Oil disappears and low oil indicator does not work.

Wheel problem #13

Tire separation drivers side rear. June1st. Vehicle going approximately 70mph on freeway temperature was 90 f and about 60% humidity car had no spare provided with car. No accident involved.

Wheel problem #14

Pulls to the right at highway speed - approx 45mph. Severe alignment problem. Dealer told me that they did have a new-enough machine to align the car. How can kia of irvine, not have the proper equipment to fix the cars they sell? inside rear cowling that goes around the small portal window on the right was warped from the factory. Car was not moving. Got a replacement part; however, it was a poor install job and the front part of the cowling does not align well with its lower connect piece. Right front tire is becoming severely worn because of alignment issue that can't be fixed. Exterior plastic cover on left-side a-frame pillar came from the factory scratched and lose. Kia of irvine will not fix it - they only want to buff the plastic. Not a proper fix because the part is still lose.

Wheel problem #15

Wall triana hwy madison was being paved on Wednesday 2/27/19. They had sprayed some type of liquid tar on the road for prepping. My car is covered with the black substance and I am unable to get it off. It has covered my rear window and back of car. It is also on my side door panels and under my vehicle, tires and rims. This is a brand new car.

Wheel problem #16

After reaching the 80000 mile mark I noticed a slight vibration in the car that varied with the speed of the vehicle. I eventually had the tires replaced and balanced but the vibration didn't go away. After elevating the car on it's jack stand I hand turned the rear wheels and looked carefully. I noticed there was a slight wobble. I replaced both rear wheel hubs and the problem was resolved. The fact the hubs didn't even last until 100k miles was bothersome though. Especially considered almost all the mileage was from highway travel.

Wheel problem #17

On 11/19/18 our 2015 kia Soul was parked in driveway at approx 4:30 pm after arriving home from work, 4 hours later in evening while watching tv at approx 8:33pm we heard a loud pop outside, we both ran to front door to see the kia Soul front end ingulfed in flames rising so high hitting roof of our garage. I called 911 while backing our other car out of driveway away from flames, while my husband tried to put out fire with extinguser and water hose. The firemen arrived and finished putting out fire but kia Soul was totaled. Kia dealership in sarasota FL has not offered any help or answers. We went online and see we are not the only ones that have experienced these kias bursting into flames. . . The manufacturer has to take responsibility! this is unacceptable! damage to our home was also done melting stucco, charing garage door and cement driveway where car burned. Our home is only 1-1/2 years old!.

Wheel problem #18

Rear right tire blew up in the middle of the highway going about 60mph with no warning (no low pressure sign), no external factors (did not run over anything). Caused the car to spin out of control, but did not hit anything. Vehicle has nexen tires.

Wheel problem #19

On may 29th 2018 I went back to holly kia with a problem with my tires . I spoke to the service department supervisor again about the cataly converter. He stated to repair the catalytic converter would cost me about $1100. I was truly upset because my car is only 4years old. Once I picked up my car I contacted the kia corporate office and spoke to another young lady explaining to her the situation and she was very rude unprofessional because she told me that it kia only manufactures the car but they are not responsible for when a part such as a catalytic converter may go bad in a car and there was nothing they could do for me. She then stated that the next time I purchase a car I should make sure I understand the warranty coverage before I purchase the vehicle. Needless to say my catalytic converter needs repairing. I also had problems with my tires and I explained to the young lady this as well. I told her I just didn't understand why they did not want to help me get these situations fix because my car was fairly new. Well I didn't get help from her. Far as my tires after getting the crank sensor fix I found myself back at holly kia getting my tires looked at because the air kept going out. One morning going to work a young man stopped me on the highway to tell me my tire was flat I immediately but air in the tire and went to holly kia and told the same parts service supervisor what the problem he took my car in and had the technician look at my tires I asked him could he have them look at all the tires because I am putting air in the tires every other day. Well in June my son had to purchase that same tire that they said was fix and told me all the other tires were good. In September 2018 I had to end up purchasing three other tires because I was still experiencing the same problem with having to put air in the other tires. Ever since I purchase the tires no problem.

Wheel problem #20

We drove the car for 5900 miles when we noticed a bubble on the side wall for one of the tires. The tires are kumho solus ta31. We contacted the USA rep and were directed to a sears autocenter for an inspection. We were told that the sears centre will open the claim for us. Te seras center did not opened the claim and issued a report without any details about the condition of the tire. We made a second call to the kumho rep and got the run around about going to the center without a claim opened. They opened finally a claim and they suggested to go to a kia dealership. We voiced our concern about losing time and work hours, not talking about using a car that may be unsafe to drive. We are concerned that another tire may exhibit the same issue if they are from the same series?! we are not satisfied with the way that kumho honored the warranty they issued for these tires. It will be much faster to pay 120$ and purchase a new tire, however we are concerns about the type of warranty that is offered by kumho.

Wheel problem #21

Our brand new 2018 car on the market has a tire mobility kit. This kit only seals a puncture & compresses for a short term trip to a local garage. As you well know, more than a puncture can occur while driving. No spare wells ("but donuts only" along with a jack at extra cost) are built to actually hold a real spare tire. There are circumstances all around this country of inadequate coverage of cell phone services, not to mention tire situations other than punctures. May I ask you how your agency consider this method of emergency repair considered safe for consumers? this system of safety should take highest priority! someone needs to address this inadequate approach to the problem. Shame on your negligence!!!.

Wheel problem #22

Tire completely separated from rim while driving on interstate, no warnings, has less than 1000 miles , 70mph heard a thumping noise then a loud explosion type sound, vehicle was hard to control after getting off to side of road the tire separated at rim all the way around, nothing was hit.

Wheel problem #23

Car has 24k miles on it. During a trip the car began to wobble driving on the interstate. I noticed the tire had a bulge on it. I replaced it. The car still wobbled. I took it to a kia dealership and they said another of the tires had gone bad, but it should get me home. I had a blowout on that tire on the way home also driving on the interstate. The tires are oem nexen cp662's. The remaining 2 tires are prematurely worn and have been rotated with each oil change.

Wheel problem #24

At 37,000 miles the rack and pinion broke. This disabled the clock spring which disabled the air bags. Was traveling about 25 mph and steering failed. Thank god I was not on expressway going 55mph or when the rack and pinion broke my steering ability would have been lost and no air bags deployed in the event of a crash. Vehicle towed to kia and rack and pinion replaced. I have another 2014 kia Soul and I worry the same thing may happen to it. Kia told me that this is not a common problem and was a part failure.

Wheel problem #25

Various suspension components, steering, and wheel areas emit clunking metal noises when turning and going over even small road imperfections. Dealer has "retorqued" some components, but noises worsening. Something(s) is (are) loose (loosening).

Wheel problem #26

I have owned 2 kia Souls (a 2011 and now a 2013 each bought new) and have been very happy until recently, June this year 2016, when checking the low air pressure in rear tires. The tire store informed me that both tires were "extremely old," "unsafe" "2007 tires!" because of the possible danger to me or others, while continuing to drive on these tires which were sold to me on my 2013 by the dealership, I was advised to replace both with new tires by the tire store, which I did immediately. Given my regular tune ups at the dealer where they noted they "rotated tires" each time, I was never informed of the age of the tires. I am fortunate that no accidents occurred. I am concerned about possible unadvisable and possible fraudulent practices on the part of ed voyles kia on cobb pkwy in smyrna GA. I have written to the corporate headquarters to investigate and come to some resolution. I appreciate the product, hope to hear this matter is resolved to my satisfaction so that I can continue to drive and recommend kia with great confidence in the future. (the low air pressure was noted while driving the car to work on a regular basis, 45 miles each way in heavy highway traffic).

Wheel problem #27

Wife was driving hit road debris and the wheel split into to pieces. The inner rim separated from the outer rim. Wheel immediately went flat, wife pulled over thinking that the tire had gone flat, but upon inspection it was discovered that the wheel has split in two.

Wheel problem #28

I was coming out of a red light intersection and when I tried turning to the left the car would not turn and kept going straight. It turned minimally and hit the curb scratching the 2 passenger side wheels (front and back). No airbags were deployed as I was only at maybe 20-30mph. As the car aligned with the road again I notice the steering is 90% impaired. I still manage to drive home as there were very few cars on the road but the car would randomly sometimes, very strongly veer to the right or left, making it extremely dangerous. I remember there was a recall letter I had received and when I got home I checked it out and it described exactly what had happened to "the pinion plug which secures the pinion gear to the steering gear assembly may loosen due to the use of adhesive with insufficient bonding strength during assembly. If the plug loosens sufficiently, the pinion gear may separate from the steering gear assembly which could cause loss of steering and result in a crash. ". I think in my case this pinion came completely loose and that caused the crash. The car was just towed to a kia dealership but now they will inspect and decide if that was the case or not. What if they simply decide they will say this was caused to something else and not the recall issue?.

Wheel problem #29

The 18 inch hankook low profile tires are a death trap in winter. I went down an off ramp sideways. On ice and snow the original manufacturer tires, hankook 18 inch tires, are absolutely awful and a threat to anyone's life driving the vehicle. Breaking in winter is especially hazardous with these tires.

Wheel problem #30

Mechanically, technically the vehicle is fine. My problem is there is no spare tire, no even a donut. There is an inflator/tire repair kit but that does no good when one gets a hole in the side of the tire. Kia does have 24 hour free tow to the dealership to rectify the situation, and I believe even motel accommodations in case this occurs on a road trip, but I feel it is still a safety hazard. For example late at night, maybe on the way to work at 4:30 in the morning. Also the sales department(s) do not do a good job in explaining the lack of a spare. It's my understanding some other makes also have the same infiltrator kit to replace the spare. Kia dealers do sell a kit for about 200. 00, maybe 300. 00, my solution is, kia should be required to provide these now at no costs to customers. I found about this the tough way on an out of town trip (between savannah, GA and beaufort, SC). . . I am from the orangeburg, SC area, so was about 90 miles from home, on the Saturday before christmas (12-19-15). . . They did offer to tow me to the kia dealership in savannah, but it would be closed by the time we got there.

Wheel problem #31

A bad bearing, caused air pressure in left tire to inflate to a dangerous psi, that could blow tire, causing an accident at high speed and death. The vehicle was being used to drive 525 miles, from dallas to kansas city, mo. Driving conditions were dry, with 85 deg outside temp. After driving 200 miles, the left tire heated up to a dangerous 45psi, causing the tire indicator light came on. We stopped to check tire and air pressure, found dangerous psi and released air to safe 32psi. After 150 miles, the left tire again re-inflated to dangerous 44psi again. We immediately pulled into walmart, replaced two front tires, thinking it was a worn left tire, but tire was graded at a #4, half wear. Both new tires were at proper inflation. After 175 miles, light came on again, driving on turnpike, at 65mph. Air psi was 46psi on the left tire, again. We removed 14 pds of air and drove 50 miles home. After taking it to a certified kia service garage, they said it was the bearing and replaced the left bearing, at no charge, saying it was under warranty. The vehicle was not in an accident nor was the bearing damaged in any service repair process, indicating only reason for failure of bearing as poor manufacturing and/or installation. Bearing is either made with inferior material or not properly lubed/packed.

Wheel problem #32

The contact owns a 2014 kia Soul. While driving 15 mph, the vehicle started pulling to the left as the driver side tire made an abnormal noise. The contact lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was inoperable. The contact did not sustain any injuries and did not file a police report. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 15v123000 (vehicle speed control) and 14v332000 (steering). The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 27,000.

Wheel problem #33

On April 23, 2015, we drove from our home in miami to north georgia. The first tire failed on the way to north georgia, near gainesville, FL. The second tire failed on the return trip near lennox, GA. As you can plainly see from the attached images, both tires appear to have failed in the exact same way. I still have the second tire in my possession if you feel an inspection is called for. At the time of the first 2 failures, the car had approximately 26,500 miles on September 5, 2015, a third tire failed in the exact same manner as the previous two. At this point I replaced the remaining 2 tires even though the fourth one had not yet failed. I still have these tires in my possession as well. At the time of this failure the car had approximately 28,000 miles. The vehicle was manufactured in December 2011 and sold as new to us in March 2012. Fortunately neither my wife nor I were injured during either of the failures and we make no claim for any injury. Also, the cost of towing our vehicle was covered by our car insurance, and we make no claim for that either. What we believe would be appropriate would be a reimbursement for the two replacement tires we were forced to purchase during our trip. The first replacement tire purchased in gainesville, FL cost $78. 92. The second tire, purchased in adel, GA cost $101. 58 for a total of $180. 50. Additionally, because of theses failures, the reliability of the two remaining tires is questionable. We would like to have both remaining tires replaced at your company's expense.

Wheel problem #34

3 problems :#1 the wheel pressure light stays on when idle and when I'm driving it but, my tires are at the same psi. Makes me keep thinking something is wrong. #2 in the winter time the rubber molding around doors sticks bad and starts to pull itself away from the glue keeping it on. #3 during the winter my windshield keeps icing up really bad (on the inside !). I can actually use my ice scraper on it. I expect this on the outside of a car but, I have never had a car do this on the inside, did they forget to seal it correctly?.

Wheel problem #35

This was a rental car, the accident occurred resulting from driver error in a dark rural area, sharp s curve and ran off the road into a guardrail and over a slight ditch, then into a fence. Driver was taken to the hospital by ambulance, the front seat passenger hit head on windshield, cracked windshield, and no airbag deployment for either of the front seat passengers. Air bag light was on as noted in police report. Checked for any open recalls for this VIN, however, 2012 kia Soul had recalls for faulty airbags. Interesting.

Wheel problem #36

While driving down fairmount blvd. I hit a pot hole, causing my tire to go flat and the air bags came out.

Wheel problem #37

Submission from re NHTSA safety complaint on kia Soul 2013 the consumer stated while driving, the right front passenger tire went flat. The wheel and rim were bent. The dealer stated, the consumer must have hit something in the road. However, the consumer disputed that notion, stating there was a recall on cadenza wheels, as they were prone to cracking, if a pothole was hit.

Wheel problem #38

My son and I were in a severe crash. We were hit from behind at about 50 mph by two cars. We were knocked off the road and down a drop off. We landed and went over large boulders. Car was totaled. Front end and rear end gone. Two wheels came off. No air bags deployed. This is a great concern for people that may want to purchase the Soul. All other vehicles in the crash had air bags that did deploy. I think if our air bags were working properly then my son and I may of not had such severe injuries to our heads, backs and necks.

Wheel problem #39

I had 3 people in the back seat but the center seat belt would not stay locked from the start. This didnt change regardless of how many times it was attempted. It has since been replaced by dealer because I complained it was a safety issue when I have 3 people in the back seat. The car has always had a small gradual drift to the right. Dealer didn't find anything. Later I had the alignment done by someone else. They showed me both front and rear driver side tires could not be aligned to true. They said the front will be fixed by new strut but back is a straight axle that cant be aligned. The car always drifted right and still does. I bought the car from the dealer with 10 miles on it.

Wheel problem #40

Prior to previous service, I noticed lug nuts were beginning to rust. Summit place kia had one for this model and replaced the worst one and was to order a new set for all wheels as a warranty item. They were supposed to call me when these came in. Never received a phone call. I asked about this upon next servicing and they found that nobody had ever ordered the remaining lug nuts. I didn't worry about this between service appts. Since it appeared to only be surface rust at this point. . . No threat of danger, yet. The good people of the service department ordered the parts while I was standing there so we knew they'd gotten ordered and are to be replaced within the week. I've had 10-12 cars in my life and have never had a lug nut rust on a vehicle which is 2 model years old. . . Especially on a garage-kept vehicle. Hopefully this next set does not follow suit or I'll be headed over to the parts store and will replace them myself.

Wheel problem #41

I was driving on a highway when, without any provocaction, the two tires on the drivers side blew out the sidewall. Hole was the size of a 50 cent piece. This happened again on March 26, 2014. We were driving on a highway and the rear tire on the driver's side blew out the sidewall again. Mileage was 36,646.

Wheel problem #42

Bought wife brand new 2012 kia Soul in 2012. Got standard transmission. At around 20k I noticed a squeal coming from the vehicle when the clutch was completely disengaged, by that I mean vehicle running foot completely off clutch. I presumed it was a throw out bearing. Took it to local mechanic and he agreed. So I took it to local kia dealer. Bought vehicle in denton texas, but had moved 7 hours south to corpus christi area. When I took it to kia in corpus I got the run around. Yes of course they could hear it but everything was working mechanically. So I was basically told too bad. Wife really wanted the Soul. And now I have to tell her kia doesn't care if it makes embarrassing noises while she's driving, just as long as I'm making the payments. Throw out bearings are not supposed to squeak or squeal. That noise is metal on metal friction, the energy it takes to make that noise has to be made by some sort of fuel. In this case it's metal rubbing on metal in a fashion that causes an unbearable amount of pressure until something finally gives prematurely. Wife decided she would do her best to ignore it. And just enjoy her new car. Here we are 2015. Has made that horrible noise all these years. We both despise the vehicle and kia in general for the lack of ethics. Last month she was driving behind a work truck and the work truck had a major malfunction. Front passenger tire broke off of the truck at the upper and lower ball joints. The assemble flew back and smashed into my wife's car. The guys insurance claimed his responsibility. They had the vehicle at allen samuels for 5 weeks. Picked it up last night. Throw out bearing is unbearably loud and new squeal as well. Body shop said not their problem. Should have replaced it when I first heard it. They replaced whole front right of vehicle, but didn't touch loud new squeal.

Wheel problem #43

I was driving to work, making a left turn into the parking lot when the front passenger tire blew. The steering wheel pulled sharply to the right and I was pulled into a curb. This caused over $1600 worth of damage to the car. There was a huge hole in the side wall of the tire and no evidence of any metal or anything in the tire. Also, the tire pressure indicator light has never come on, so I know they were at the proper psi. I contacted the dealer when the accident happened, and was told they have no responsibility for the tires. They actually looked at the car and all they said was "this is just bad driving. " I then called the kia company and talked to three different people. Their conclusion was they are not responsible for the tires. One person even asked how much I weighed! this vehicle is a 2011 and only has 8,200 miles on it. I had to go through my insurance to get it fixed. I believe that kia should stand by these tires, because nexxen come standard on their vehicles. Since this has happened, I have researched online and have found people have had similar problems with the tires on kia vehicles.

Wheel problem #44

The vehicle does not come with a spare tire of any kind. Instead you are given a small air compressor and a can of tire sealant. This will not help if you have a complete tire blow out. In that instance you would need to have the vehicle towed and taken to a tire dealer. If you are in a remote area, with no cell phone coverage you are stranded. (in my case, the dealer did not tell me that there was no spare. I discovered it after I'd had the vehicle for 2 months. ).

Wheel problem #45

Dealership changed my brakes on sept 18. On sept 19, while driving on highway, all four brakes activated without brakes being pressed. Vehicle decelerated from 65mph to 30 mph and drivers side front brake caught on fire.

Wheel problem #46

The contact owns a 2011 kia Soul. The contact was driving 35 mph and heard a noise coming from the wheels. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the wheels were not the standard wheel size for the vehicle. The tpms valve stem had broken off inside the wheels, causing the tire pressure warning lights to illuminate constantly. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure who offered no assistance. The VIN was unavailable. The failure mileage was 500 and the current mileage was 30,000.

Wheel problem #47

The contact owns a 2012 kia Soul. The contact stated the driver of the vehicle was traveling 35 mph when the tire failed. The tire pressure warning light also illuminated on the instrument panel. When the driver attempted to change the tire the vehicle was equipped with a repair kit instead of a spare tire. The repair kit was fix-a-flat and a DC air pump. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified and stated they were aware that some vehicles do not have spare tires. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 7200.

Wheel problem #48

Tl- the contact owns a 2010 kia Soul. The contact stated that twice the wheels were locking and the vehicle stalled several times. The contact also mentioned that the battery failed after one year and when the vehicle was taken to the dealer they only offered to recharge the battery. A day later, the battery failed. The authorized dealer did not replace the battery and the contact had the battery replaced. Wheel problem #49

I have my kia Soul 2010 since October 2009. Approximately in March 2010 I saw one of the front hankook tires had a big bubble. Then for about 3 months later; another tire in this case a rear tire had a bubble too. I spoke with maintenance dealer in puerto rico and they told me it was abuse of my part and need to replace them. In August 2010 the third tire; in front had appear with a bubble too. I am driving this car with these 3 tires with bubbles; I fear for my safety and one day one of them could burst in the highway and cause an accident and lost my life. Its weird a tire have this problem.

Wheel problem #50

I am an owner of a 2010 kia Soul, purchased in July 2009. Immediately noticed with the slightest moisture on road, car could barely handle at low speeds and the traction light and low air pressure light consistently came on and off. Was told it was "not a problem" by dealer and would wear off. My car was involved in a low speed accident which side swept the right side of the car at a speed of appx 10 mph and drove the left front wheel into curb. Car had passenger side body damage and some heavy scuffing to three wheels which body shop repaired. In October of 2010, clipped curb traveling at appx 20 mph. Severe damage to both right side wheels, had to replace them as well as control arm which seemed to be ridiculous amount of damage for such a small incident however had repairs and alignment done, alignment couldn't be done to specs, suggested I take to dealer. Took car into dealer for allignment and to have sound in front right wheel well investigated. Dealer stated rear toe of car was "out" need to have a body shop look at it. Back to body shop which revealed entire rear axle needed to be replaced and that front wheel bearing blown. Had axle replaced took to dealership to have wheel bearing replaced and another allignment, rear of car would not align to specs. Both dealership and body shop states that either the original specs for car were wrong or perhaps either the original axle or the replacement axle from kia was built out of specs. My concern is that this is a lightly driven car in town only involved in two very minor accidents and there is this significant, expensive damage only to be told it may have never been right in the first place? I've seen many more complaints about the suspension and low profile tires on internet, thought it was worth reporting. I do not feel safe in this car.
