For a week or two when I turned the heated seat on I would often feel a very intense heat from the seat back when it started up for a period of time. I had just recently had a back injury so I thought perhaps my back was being overly sensitive. Finally on the 27th just after I started driving the car in the morning I felt the burning feeling on my back again and stuck my hand behind me to feel the seat. I felt burning on my hand and pain and yanked my hand away immediately, pulled over, and looked behind me at the seat, in time to see a curl of smoke coming out of a small hole on the back of the seat. I also found that the palm of my hand had a small mark beneath the base of my thumb where I had felt the burning pain. It took at least half an hour for the burning sensation to fade. I also detected an odor of smoke for a bit afterward. I had no warning that this was going to happen other than the burning feeling the heated seat had started to generate upon my back- no warning lights or such. I have not had any service done on the problem yet though I intend to contact kia soon; so the car is currently in the same state although obviously I don't turn the heated seat on anymore since I don't want things in my car to be on fire.

The child safety seat latches are inaccessible as they are buried in tight upholstery. I can't always successfully latch the car seats into the car and when I succeed it is only with the help of someone very experienced and takes upwards of half an hour. Tl the contact owned a 2018 kia Soul. While the vehicle was idling at a stop light, the contact's vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle traveling 45 mph. The air bags did not deploy and the driver's seat snapped in half. A police report was filed. The contact sustained nerve damage to the back that required medical attention. Tl the contact rented a 2017 kia Soul. While driving the vehicle, the contact became aware of a bruise around the tail bone area. The contact had an x-ray performed and was informed that he had sustained a fractured tail bone. The contact was treated for the fractured tail bone. The contact was concerned that the cloth seat fabric covering was extremely thin. Enterprise rental car was notified. The vehicle was sent to summit place kia west (4575 plainfield Ave ne, grand rapids, mi 49525, (616) 323-1400) near enterprise rental car. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000.

The main part of my complaint is that the head rests lean forward so much that my head is bent downward when I am driving the car; therefore, I feel I cannot look straight ahead. I am short, but have no physical deformities that keep me from driving other vehicles safely. I sit on a cushion regardless of what type vehicle I drive. I feel the way the head rest bends my head forward is a safety hazard to me. Also, the seat backs seem to have a curve and will not allow a person to sit up straight in the seat. This has been, of course, an ongoing problem since the purchase of the vehicle. My husband and I have made this complaint known to our local kia dealerships, as well as the kia manufacturer.

I was slowing down and was rear ended which caused the seat to fall backward, breaking backward. The car is currently sitting @ray skillman, 1300n. Shadeland, indianapolis, in. The seat is badly defomed and broken. I feel someone should check this seat to make sure no one else has this problem. My car is totaled and should be checked before it is destroyed. I brought the car to fred anderson kia of raleigh (kiaofraleigh. Com) on 6/7/21, 6/25/21, and 7/20/21, and they incorrectly diagnosed the leak as an air conditioner hose. And then, after they replaced the hose, they thought it might be a windshield leak. After the unneeded air conditioner repair, they referred me out for windshield/water leak testing. Mcconnell auto glass (mcconnellautoglass. Com) determined that the windshield was not leaking. The leak was coming in from substandard factory welding in the car frame. The car has never had frame repair on that side. My attempts to patch the bad weld joints with jd weld caused the leak to continue to move across multiple failing car frame welds. The leak has damaged the interior of the car, grown mold, and exposed the electrical components to failure, rust, and fire. I contacted kia corporation (800 333 4542) on 1/12/22, 1/20/22, and 1/21/22. They have told me that fred anderson kia will not return their outreach calls, and they would refer my case # 14586235 to the district manager for a callback -- which has not happened. They tell me the dm’s name and contact information are secret, so I can not call them. The frame welds. I have covered some of the leaking areas with jd weld, but the welds are unaltered and could be inspected by removing the jd weld. I also took several pictures. The leak is still present. The leak caused interior damage, including mold, and could damage electrical components due to moisture, rust, or fire.
