One problem related to radio/tape cd player has been reported for the 1996 Kia Motor Sportage. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The passenger side door speaker caught on fire while listening to the radio . Fortunately my wife was able to put the fire out with her jacket. The fire burned part of the door panel.
