Cruise Control problems of the 1997 Kia Motor Sportage

Three problems related to cruise control have been reported for the 1997 Kia Motor Sportage. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2004

The srs air bag light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The cruise control failed to come on its own. The clock spring needed to be replaced. The air bag light had been on for a year. The consumer was informed that the front seat belts needed to be replaced.

2 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 03/14/1999

Engine check light kept coming on. Idle stays high at stop lights or stop signs. Has been happening at least 3 times a week. Took to dealer & was informed problem caused by going over bumps, but would repair problem. Picked vehicle up & light came back on again.

3 Cruise Control problem

Failure Date: 03/06/1998

Vacuum reservoir failed causing the cruise control to not hold speed. Nlm.
