One problem related to air bag knee bolster has been reported for the 1999 Kia Motor Sportage. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Vehicle was involved in a frontal collision in which an impact was sustained at 50 mph. Upon impact, both frontal air bags failed to deploy. Also, vehicle came equipped with knee bolsters underneath the steering column. As a result the driver sustained back injuries, and vehicle was totaled.
