Ten problems related to gasoline engine have been reported for the 1999 Kia Motor Sportage. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 02/06/2002

I have to warm my car up at least 35 minutes so that it will not stop at railcrossings, stop signs and red lights. I f I do not continue to run my heater in the car on warm the problem will start again when I make a stop or slow down. When I leave work in the afternoon, I have to go through the same process. I have taken my car to the dealership on several occasions. They say they can not find out what is wrong with the car. They claim they cannot get the car to do the things I reported. Frankly I don't think they even drive the car out of the service area to see if there is actually a problem. I really hate having to pay money and get no results. I do not feel safe trying a car I've only had 29 months. I live in a town where 5-6 people have been killed by the train. I have to cross the tracks to go to work and I'm afraid one day that this will happen to me if I can' t get this problem remedied.
