The consumer had multiples problems with this vehicle. While driving, the vehicle stalled. The consumer tried to restart the vehicle but was unable to do so. The consumer had the vehicle towed to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic has replaced sensors brake pads and rotors. The consumer informed the mechanic this problem still occurred more than once and has not been resolved. Please fill in additional information.
I own a 2000 kia Sportage ex that has repeatedly stalled when coming to a stop or when slowing to make a turn. This has resulted in my being stopped in the middle of busy intersections/part of the way across a road, desperately trying to restart my car before being hit. It has also lost power while on the interstate, dropping from 65mph with no warning. If I do not get off the highway immediately I risk losing total power. I have taken the car to the kia dealership in durham,nc multiple times. They can not identify the problem on their computers. Independent mechanics have been unable to identify the problem. I have had all recommended maintenance done on this car.
Engine fan has a gap causing vehicle to stall out. Dealer notified.
Consumer states that while driving at 35mph and with no warning vehicle will stall ,and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle. Dealer notified.

While driving, vehicle stalled and consumer had to have it towed to dealership, dealer stated they could not find any problems with vehicle, however, it continues to hesitate every time when coming to a stop and dealer can not remedy the problem.
When starting vehicle, it runs rough and almost stalls. When driving vehicle, it hesitates and bucks, has total loss of power in 1st and 2nd gear. This problem does not happen all the time, but does happen frequently. Has been to the dealership and they cannot locate problem. Car has lost power several times while entering traffic causing a potential accident.
This vehicle stalled out for the first time 1 week after I bought it. (oct 28, 1999) I contacted kia regarding this problem when it first happened. I have been to 2 different authorized repair centers and both report that there is no problem with this vehicle. However I see similar problems being reported by other consumers.
