The contact owns a 2005 kia Sportage. While driving approximately 10 mph, the contact applied the brakes and the vehicle accelerated abnormally. The contact stated that the failure would recur intermittently during inclement weather. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and stated the vehicle could be taken to another dealer for diagnostics but the contact would have to cover the cost of repairs. The vehicle was not repaired.
