The all wheel drive and antilock break are not working. Also, the dashboard has no indicator lights on and the diagnostic app says nothing is wrong. So the computer system has failed too. This is an all wheel drive kia Telluride with less than 15,000 miles. It all started this snow season, when there is the least bit of snow or ice we have no control of the vehicle. Our 2 wheel drive prius handles better. This resulted in my wife losing control on a roundabout and hitting the curb, which in turn damaged the a tie rod and alignment. We were lucky she was driving in our neighborhood, just 1/2 a mile from our house and was driving slowly. The vehicle is no longer safe to drive. It is currently being serviced at a kia dealership. At this point the service provider says there's nothing wrong with the awd and the antilock breaks because the computer's is telling them it's fine. Service person is blaming it on the ice however at the time of the incident there was snow and slush. I and my oldest son have also driven it recently and noticed the same issues as my wife when driving in snow. We didn't take it in because the app says the car is fine. Initially thought maybe we had accidentally pushed a button that deactivated awd, but further reading indicated awd is always on. The initial plan was to address the way it felt driving it in snow at next oil change (which was due in about 100 miles) but we trusted the computer system.

The 2020 kia Telluride was purchased with the "tow package" which included "self-leveling" rear shocks. The self-leveling rear shocks failed early and has created a safety concern with braking/handling/steering in addition to comfort in ride. Concern with the shocks began around 60,000 miles (roughly Jan 2023), but there was no indication of shock failure or leakage. Our independent service center/mechanic told us the shocks looked fine and that typically shocks should never fail this early. We just assumed the ride was rough and even after replacing tires, the ride never improved. As it progressively worsened, the local certified kia dealership has now inspected and verified that both rear shocks have failed (leaking and rusting) and that the ride is unbearable (the vehicle is over 77,000 miles now). I believe the vehicle is unsafe to drive in its current condition and though it is out of warranty for this repair, we are having the dealership replace both rear shocks. Over the course of the past 17,000 miles, braking, steering, and cornering have certainly been compromised due to this early shock failure, putting me and my family as well as other motorists at risk. There were not any warning lamps or other obvious signs of wear other than riding in the vehicle. The ride left most passengers feeling ill, with headaches from a very rough ride even on smoot concrete.
Rear driver's side wheel speed sensor began to fail intermittently at 10k miles (confirmed and replaced under warranty by dealership, no longer have access to the failed part but can provide dealer contact info). This failure resulted in braking not working correctly – presumably abs system would read a 0 rpm reading from the one wheel, which then led to abs triggering at maximum strength for all wheels. The first time this occurred I was approaching a stop sign at approximately 20 mph on dry pavement and was entirely unable to stop, rolling approximately 50 feet before the computer disabled abs entirely and I was able to use mechanical brakes to stop. (in subsequent incidents I triggered the same failure in my driveway at extremely low speeds before getting onto a public road. ) the following dashboard lights came on after each incident: auto hold, auto stop-start, forward collision assist, abs, traction control, and master warning. No lights were on prior to brake failure. While the computer registered that the wheel speed sensor was not working mechanical brakes worked correctly (albeit with no stability control or abs). However, occasionally the system would reset (after turning off / on the vehicle enough times or driving enough distance) at which point dashboard warning lights would turn off and brakes would again stop working reliably (abs would trigger prematurely). . While applying the brake at an approaching stop sign the brake pedal was completely depress and the vehicle continued to roll forward into the intersection. This happened twice in a week. Kia dealer assessed the vehicle on two occasions and was unable to find a fault. This could very well cause a major crash and impact the safety of myself, my family and others on the roadway.

Part number 97279-s9010 fell on my feet while I was driving from under dash. Part block access to the brake as it fell on my feet between my foot and the brake/gas making it impossible to apply the brake. Fortunately, was a rural road so I put in neutral and coasted to the side of the road. Very confusing until I saw the part blocking the brake and gas pedal.
At a little over 63000+ mileage my vehicle's alternator have gone bad and now sitting in the shop for repairs that are not cover by my warranty because it was a little ove 60000 mileage. On the day my alternator gave in, I was on the freeway and all my hazards lights were lit. The steering wheel stiffen and it was hard to drive, I try to pull over and the vehicle went dead in mid freeway. All blinkers and lights were no longer working too so I was in the mid of a freeway at night in the dark. For all I know someone couldve side swipe me or crashed into me with the sudden power loss. I've only have this supposedly new car off the lot for 3 years with only 63k mileage and the alternator is bad already and drained my whole battery.
While operating the vehicle and braking, the dashboard warnings lights began flashing. The brake pedal went to the floor and did not brake the vehicle. No amount of pumping of the brakes helped. At about 3-5 mph I struck the stopped vehicle in front of me at an intersection. Later that day the same thing happened, and this time I pulled the emergency brake lever and held it. The warning alarm sounded but the brakes never slowed or stopped the vehicle. I drove the vehicle safely to a repair shop and it was then towed to a kia dealership. Where it is available for inspection. The error codes on the ecm indicate that the right rear abs speed sensor has lost communication. I do not know if the component has been inspected by kia. When the failure occurs the bcw light goes on, the abs light goes on, the master warning light goes on, the electronic stability light goes on, and the auto hold lights amber. The dealership has reviewed the codes on the ecm which follows: abs/esc(+epb) 2 codes 1. C121102: wheel speed sensor rear-rh invalid/no signal 2. C121002: wheel speed sensor rear-rh range / performance / intermittent integrated body control unit- bcm 1 code 1. B121200: front center right sensor fault integrated body control unit- smk 1 code 1. The contact owns a 2020 kia Telluride. The contact stated that while the engine was idling and the brake pedal was being pressed for approximately 3 minutes, the vehicle suddenly experienced unintended acceleration causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash into a nearby snow plurer, lamp pole, and house stairs. During the incident, no injuries were reported. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 28,000.
The brakes on my 2021 kia Telluride failed while pulling into my side entry garage. The Telluride's brakes went limp, losing pressure and dropped to the floorboard. The Telluride crashed into the interior of the garage, coming to a complete stop after slamming into the foundation of the house. Once stopped, the Telluride could be put in park and braking was restored. Home surveillance captured the event and it is available for viewing https://youtu. Be/adj6txyk57k.
Inside brake pad on drivers side rear separated from the metal backing plate. Other pad is hardly used and other side is not worn. This caused difficulty stopping and a grinding noise from the left rear of the vehicle.
