The contact owns a 2017 Land Rover Discovery. The contact stated that a bracket that opens the vehicle's bench seat had broken; due to the failure, the hatch would not close when opened. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where she was informed that the defect was not covered under recall or warranty and was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
