1 Wiper problem of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 03/23/2026

This is a report of a failed remedy for safety recall n321 (recall #19v293). Records confirm that this vehicle had the recall repair performed on 12/09/2020. That repair has now failed. A certified technician at the dealership has confirmed via video that the windshield bond has detached, leading to significant water intrusion. This flooding has ruined safety-related electronic modules (cameras/audio) and caused significant mold growth in the interior, which is a biohazard health hazard. The manufacturer is admitting the failure but is refusing to provide a 100% covered remedy for this failed safety recall, offering only a 40% 'goodwill' contribution. The vehicle is currently dismantled and unsafe to drive. A failed windshield bond compromises the structural integrity of the vehicle in a rollover and prevents the proper deployment of the passenger airbag. Furthermore, the active electrical failures in the safety-related camera systems and the respiratory risk from mold growth make the vehicle unsafe for occupancy technician diagnosis summary technician name: skyler (Jaguar/Land Rover certified) date of diagnosis: March 23, 2026. Dealership: Land Rover parsippany, NJ key findings from skyler's video: direct admission of failure: "so what we have going on is the windshield is leaking. The windshield is leaking so we’re going to have to get the windshield resealed for you. " extent of water damage: "inspect the carpets and they are very wet all the way around on the vehicle. . . The vehicle does have like a mildewy smell. " safety/electrical failure: "initially when I pulled the vehicle in, the surround sound cameras were not working. . . It's possible that one of the modules had water in I opened a case with Land Rover corporate (case #[xxx]), which they have since closed after refusing to provide a 100% covered remedy for this safety failure. They offered only a partial 40% 'goodwill' contribution and refused further assistance despite the confirmed safety hazard. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of inform.

2 Wiper problem of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 01/23/2026

My 2019 Land Rover Discovery hse had a manufacturer windshield recall performed due to water intrusion risk. The windshield did not leak prior to the recall repair. The vehicle now has active water intrusion at the windshield area, which appears to be a failure of the recall repair. Land rover has refused to cover the repair.

3 Wiper problem of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 11/01/2025

The windshield seal failed at the top of the windshield, allowing significant water intrusion into the vehicle cabin. The windshield had previously been replaced under a manufacturer recall/service action, but that repair failed. Water intrusion caused failure of the occupant restraint control module (rcm), impairing airbag system functionality. Water also damaged the audio amplifier and other electronic components. Interior flooring and insulation are saturated and require removal and remediation. The defect was confirmed by an authorized Land Rover dealer, who identified the source of the leak as a defective windshield seal. Warning messages related to vehicle systems appeared after the water intrusion was discovered. The vehicle is no longer safe to operate due to compromised safety systems. This is the second Land Rover Discovery I have owned that has experienced catastrophic windshield sealing failure resulting in extensive water damage. The manufacturer declined responsibility and advised filing an insurance claim.

4 Wiper problem of the 2022 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

The failing component is the same as Land Rover Discovery 2017-2020 recall /n221 service action. Complaint is to extend this service action/ recall to later production models of Land Rover Discovery in the years 2021 and 2022. The same issues are occurring as reported with Land Rover Discovery 2017-2020. Due to a faulty sealant mechanism, the windshield is leaking water on the inside of vehicle causing visual impairment whilst driving in rain, snow and wet conditions - an unsafe way to drive. The water is also known to leak into electrical components causing cameras to not work, causing steering issues and causing electrical safety warning systems not to function. Land rover Discovery (specifically 2017–2020 models) has faced issues with water leaking from the windshield, causing potential electrical damage and cabin moisture, as detailed in a service action (n221) and a 2020 class-action lawsuit. While often handled as a technical service bulletin (TSB) rather than a safety recall, dealers are instructed to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield. Key details regarding the windshield issues:affected vehicles: primarily 2017-2018 Discovery 5, though reports have continued for 2020 models. Problem: improper sealing leads to water leaks, causing moisture in the cabin and potential damage to electrical components. Service action/recall: service action n221 outlines instructions for dealers to test for leaks and replace the windshield if necessary, under certain circumstances. Action needed: owners experiencing this issue should contact their local Land Rover dealership for a check, as it may be covered by the manufacturer's warranty or a goodwill repair. However, service dealers who I have called are requiring me to pay $250 for a diagnostic of their own issue. As well as keep the car for several days just to evaluate.

5 Wiper problem of the 2022 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

Windshield crack. No sign of impact or stress. Bottom driver side start of crack then spread to midline and over to passenger side of windshield. Completely unknown as to any cause other than a design or materials defect.

6 Wiper problem of the 2018 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 12/10/2024

My 2018 Land Rover Discovery started leaking water from the top of the front windshield any time it rained. The water intruded on the interior of the vehicle including, interior windshield, electronics mounted toward the top middle of the windshield, dashboard, seats, and electronics/buttons/controllers on the center console. The vehicle also made a loud "whistling noise" when driven due to an obvious issue with the windshield. I brought the car to the dealer on 1/7/2025. They verified the issue as an ongoing problem with Land Rover windshields leaking, stating many have shorted out the electronic systems on the vehicles due to water damage. They refused to take responsibility for the issue saying there was no formal recall on the vehicle. However, a search on google found that this is an ongoing problem that had been identified on a number of Land Rover vehicles where "water ingress into the passenger compartment or wind noise may be evident". See bulletin: nas18. 09. 004 issued by Jaguar Land Rover north America llc on 3/23/2020 (listed as an after sales bulletin). Obviously Land Rover has been aware of this potentially dangerous situation since 2020 and has chosen not to cover the defect in manufacturing/assembly which I was forced to pay for. The cost to repair exceeded $1k out of pocket for an issue that should be a mandatory recall on all affected vehicles. Water making its way into the electronic system of the affected vehicles can result in a potential dangerous driving situation. This is a formal complaint and to put Jaguar/Land Rover north America on notice of a potential hazardous situation for which they refuse to take responsibility.

8 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 01/24/2024

Windshield leak leads to unknown amount of water egress before the leak is visible inside the vehicle. This leads to electrical damage and loss of vital controls in vehicle.

9 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 09/18/2023

My vehicle's windshield has been replaced by Land Rover due to an NHTSA recall in 2018/2019. The windshield was replaced by a Land Rover dealer in san diego as soon as I was informed of the safety failure. However, I recently began to get water inside the vehicle and the same issue is happening again, even though Land Rover replaced the windshield at it's san diego dealership. I originally thought the sunroof was leaking but upon taking it to a mechanic who specializes in sunroof repairs, we both determined that the windshield has failed again, creating a safety hazard. According to the mechanic, this is most likely because the dealer did not install a new windshield with primer for the urethane caulking that holds the windshield in place, creating both a safety problem as well as a problem with water entering the cabin.

10 Wiper problem of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 04/29/2023

Windshield is leaking and during heavy rain it floods the cup holders and damages the electronics. Exactly like previous recall https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2020/mc-10173517-0001. Pdf windshield has never been replaced and the vehicle has never been in an accident.

11 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 03/15/2023

I was completely stopped at a red light. I have just left work and was 2 miles down the street. My rear window completely exploded. Glass flew everywhere. The noise was so loud that it caused ear pain. I have requested a complete inspection from the dealership along with a review of the edr system and sdr. This happened on Wednesday 3/15. I am concerned this was electrical given the car had only been turned on for 3 minutes and I was at a complete stop with zero impact. I am concerned for this to happen again with my children in the car or for the possibility of a short circuit affecting the airbags, additional window, breaks, anything else. I have submitted videos and photos to the dealership to review and as you can see the points are at the electrical boxes on the left and right side of the window. I would like this reviewed for safety concerns.

12 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 11/29/2022

Front windshield has a leak for the second time. The first time it was replaced a year ago, and now the leak is in the top of the windshield frame causing water to leak onto the dash and also on to infotainment screen from the rear view mirror above. Loss and failure of electrical components is a real consternation in regard to this issue. Apparently this is an ongoing manufacturer production failure, with many complaints from owners of this vehicle across the internet. The service mgr. At the dealership informed me that I need to pay $650 to have the windshield replaced. I feel that this issue is the responsibility of Land Rover and has to be resolved with a recall. Please let me know if there is any help available in this regard. Thank you jack fromberg.

13 Wiper problem of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 06/01/2022

The vehicle leaks water from the top, middle and top right (passenger) of the windshield. Whenever it's raining water drips down the inside of the windshield and falls on the dash. In the mornings, after heavy rains, water can be found on the drivers and passengers seat, as well as in the cupholders this waterfalls all over the central electronic system and navigation, and seems only a matter of time before these systems will fail as well. When reporting it to the dealer, the dealer mentioned that this has been a common problem for this generation Discovery, however, are not willing to replace the windshield under warranty.

14 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 01/22/2022

Water ingress on the passenger side from the windshield, could result in visibility issues and electronics failure as already noted in the bulletin - https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10152016-9999. Pdf I was in a car wash when suddenly I noticed the water ingress and Land Rover of bethesda is not going to take care of the issue even after the bulletin detail was shared with them.

15 Wiper problem of the 2018 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 12/04/2021

Significant water leakage into front dash from the top the windshield.

16 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 11/14/2021

The windshield failed allowing rain water to pool in the floorboards of the vehicle. The electronics were destroyed, the damage done was well above $20,000. 00. Land rover didn’t take any responsibility as it was 40 days outside of warranty. The car had less than 40,000 miles on it. Likely my insurance kicked in and declared the vehicle a total loss.

17 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 10/25/2021

I have a 2017 Land Rover Discovery with multiple episodes of significant water leakage problems due to a known windshield seal issue on the model as identified by the dealer. During the warranty the windshield and seal were replaced and would then fail twice, on the 2nd occurrence I instructed to the dealer to notate my account with concerns about electrical issues due to the amount of water that entered the dashboard, center console, and overhead electrical. Reviewing my own service records I can see electrical problems occurred on the vehicle with notes to "let it dry out". The final time this happened was just outside of manufacturer's warranty still within the cpo period, we were told it was no longer covered even though this has never been solved. Dealer stated they've never seen this much water come in, we have significant staining and electrical concerns for which lrna show no concern or remorse. I am uncomfortable being put in a position to sell this car knowing what happened and the potential repair costs (10k+ for significant electrical work) plus the safety concerns of failure. My car has been at the dealer for almost 20 days now with no loaner and no activity on my case. I have spoken to my case worker only twice, once when I opened it and once when she finally answered one of my calls 10 days later. I call every day to ask for updates, the dealer reaches out on my behalf and still no progress has been made. No loaners have been offered, 10 days in I was told I would need to wait another 10 days, plus the dealer indicated at least 3 days to order the windshield (at least 23 days total at the dealership). I believe water entering a vehicle like it did and coming into contact with electrical systems poses a significant threat to the operability and safety of the vehicle with lrna showing no regard for the situation, happily letting myself or someone else get "stuck" with this problem and the potential failure assocaited with it.

18 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 12/21/2019

Tl- the contact owns a 2017 Land Rover Discovery. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, when she opened the front passenger side door and noticed water inside the cab. The contact stated she saw the water was entering on the front windshield. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to local dealer Jaguar Land Rover anaheim hills located at 5401 e la palma Ave, anaheim, CA 92807, were made aware of the failure. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired as of yet. The manufacturer had not been informed of failure. The failure mileage was 20,000. Dp.

19 Wiper problem of the 2018 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 12/13/2019

While traveling or standing still the vehicle leaks rainwater from the entire top front windshield. Depending on how hard and how much rain is falling will depend on how much water leaks and accumulates inside into the interior vehicle cabin. I have found several inches in cup holders after a long rainstorm. The dealer advised they have had several complaints on this particular make/model. Advise they will replace seam located on top of the windshield. The part on order, still waiting for the dealer to call. This is a safety hazard which impairs drivers visibility during inclement weather, causes unnecessary distraction and a possible electrical hazard.

20 Wiper problem of the 2018 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 11/27/2019

Upon staying in the mountains of north carolina and entering the car one morning after a rain storm, and while still raining in that morning, water had been and continued to, leak in through the top passenger side of the window shield. This resulted in a substantial amount of water on the headliner, flooring, and dash board. Vehicle has remained with dealership since 11/29 for repairs and part replacement. Per dealership, the faulty window shield is a known and common problem in the new Discoverys yet has not been recalled. As an attorney and an owner of a 2018 Discovery, I have escalated to Jaguar landrover corporate. I have a video and photos available however I believe the video is too large to upload. Possible damage to electrical and/or long term damage and loss of value is unknown.

21 Wiper problem of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 11/21/2019

2017 Land Rover Discovery hse, major water leak from the upper corner, passenger side of the car. The leak happens when it rains or snows (both standing still or in motion). The water so far has touched the a-pillar airbag, the safety cameras on the windshield and other electrical wiring. Additionally the water finds its way to the carpeting on the floor. In one occasion today (1/8/2020) water spilled into my head from right above the rear-view mirror while I was taking an exit ramp. This got me distracted for a couple of seconds, almost running off the road. Land rover is aware of the issue, however they wait for the customer to report the problem before they do anything about it. It seems that the owners have been experiencing this issue as early as late 2017 (based on internet blogs). It also seems that there is a flaw with the early production models, requiring Land Rover to replace the entire windshield to resolve the issue, however after over 50 days of reporting the issue, Land Rover has failed to provide the replacement part. As a consumer I believe this is a major safety issue, mainly because it can cause electrical shortage with safety components, in addition to distracting the driver due to unexpected water drop while operating the car.

22 Wiper problem of the 2019 Land Rover Discovery

Failure Date: 06/12/2019

Bought car last may, 2019, and within four months was back and forth to the dealership for repairs. Water got inside my vehicle from the front windshield with water everywhere inside, including the dashboard, screen and main console. Dealership said it was from the window recalls, but mine never was recalled. They said the seals where faulty. Faulty engine O2 sensor (three faulty codes) right when I was driving back from my windshield repair. Turned around and dropped car back off. Camera system fault message was on the screen. They claim nothing was wrong. This was after water got into my car. Basically, I'm just waiting for the next thing to happen with my car with so much water getting inside the cabin and main console area. Dealership said they can do nothing about it as everything is working now. Vehicle was sitting outside when water got inside. When other items happened, I was driving. These happened on June of 2019, September of 2019 and November 0f 2019.
