1 Oil Pump problem

The contact owns a 2004 Land Rover Discovery Ii. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the oil pressure warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where it was stated that the oil pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000. *.

2 Oil Pump problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2013

Discovery Land Rover defect in the oil pump, it exploded, heard a loud bang and it damaged engine, the car is now junk and I am not buying another expensive part for this vehicle. There are forums all over the internet of this happening to many people. Had to carefully pull over on the highway at high speed as this could have caused an accident.

3 Oil Pump problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2010

Oil pump failed on 2004 landrover discovery at 66,000 miles. Second oil pump failed at 86,000.

4 Oil Pump problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2010

Land rover dealer quotes price of engine replacement at $12,850. Requested assistance from both Land Rover north America customer relations and from local dealer due to a pattern of similar oil pump failures in 2003 and 2004 vehicles. No response to date.
