Land Rover Discovery Ii owners have reported 5 problems related to air bag (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
We were driving straight on I 5. In red bluff California headed to lodi CA. The car just started making a noise and then the vehicle started swiirving left to right with control or response from the steering wheell we hit going 65mph. And we were smashed into a guard rail head on. Then spun out all over the freeway. Car is totaled and no air bags deployed. Happened at 1435 in the afternoon. Dry sunny conditions , and we had a 11 month old in the car behind me on passenger side. And a 4 yr old behind my wife whom was driving. Scary , my goal is to prevent this from happening to other family's like mine. My wife and I were lucky to only walk away injured. And kids tramitized but alive. . Thank god. But another family might not be so lucky unless this is addressed.

The steering air bag blowout for nothing, the vehicle was stationary the motor was working I'm whasing the Land Rover and that happened, I'm confuse.
The "spiral cassette" on my 2000 Land Rover discovery has failed three times (about every 30,000 miles or two years). When this happens, the srs light comes on and I have been told that my airbag srs is not functional. I have had it replaced and not "tested" the air bag. It has now failed again. This seems to be a defective design or consistently defective manufacturing which leads to failure of a vital safety system. I would like you to investigate to determine the extent of this problem and whether or not a recall is necessary. I believe the part is "yrc100350 rotary cassette".

1. Major accident happened, but airbag didn't deploy. 2. Fortunately we survived, yes of course with some injuries, but what would have happened if we were not that fortunate. In other words there was no safety from that so called good named car. Called Land Rover. 3. Want to find out what was wrong in my car.
