Coolant Leaking Problems of Land Rover Discovery Ii

The contact owns a 2002 Land Rover Discovery Ii. The contact stated that he smelled a strong odor of anti freeze while the vehicle was parked. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer and the contact was informed that a head gasket was blown due to a coolant leak. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 80,000.

Head gasket leak. Common problem with this SUV. Local lr repair said $1650 - $2500. Head gaskets on this engine can go out every 35k. Coolant leaks from the back of the cylinder head. Not detrimental, but can cause the constant smell of coolant. No puddles. My coolant level drops about a quart a month. Hardly worth $1650 to repair.

I have a 2000 Land Rover discovery, which I love and despite that my vehicle has been in the shop many times, (almost every few months) I still love my truck, so I bought my husband one also, he has a 2001 Land Rover, but just recently I had to have my vehicle towed to the dealership. And I was told my engine sized and I have to replace the heads or the complete engine, this was all caused from a coolant leak in my throttle body, and the vehicle never gave a warning that my engine was running to hot or to cold, that is why there is a gage on the dash to provide this information. And now my husband has a 2001 Land Rover discovery and he is have the same problems, vehicle only has 79,000 miles on it . And no-one at Land Rover will help. I am so very upset.
