I purchased an new Land Rover Lr3 in January 2006. In August 2006 the vehicles speed control would not shut off by depressing the off control button on the steering column of the vehicle. This problem continues today. This is an intermittent problem I consider a safety concern. The speed control will shut down when the brake pedal is depressed. However, when the brake pedal is depressed to shut off the speed control the brake lights come on, this probably startles the person following, their reaction would be to apply their brakes causing a possible chain reaction. Land rover doesn't seem interested in trying to correct the problem. They tell me it doesn't happen when it is in the shop so therefore the problem doesn't exist.

Tires were unevenly worn at the 7500 mi. Check. The dealer replaced all four tires. The new tires were again worn by the 15,000 mi. Check and they had been rotated in between the two periodic checks. This time, Land Rover said they would only replace two tires because of the mileage on the car. I explained that the tires only had 7500 mi. On them, but Land Rover said tires aren't covered as it was normal wear and tear. I told them there was nothing normal about replacing tires with this frequency and that the worn tires represented a symptom, not a problem. My own dealer was going to replace all four tires . We bought two Lr3',within one year, but I wa sbegging them to identify the source of the issue before I started chewing up the third set. I am surprised this issue wasn't disclosed before I bought my car. I purchased a 2005 leftove" in the beginning of 2006, long after the tire issue was identified. I am also experiencing problems with hesitation on acceleration. It has been at the shop twice to have that problem corrected without success. I feel cheated. It wa s an expensive car and one that should not require this level of maintenance so early into ownership.
2006 Land Rover model Lr3 -leased. Vehicle has delayed acceleration from a stop or slow speed- vehicle hesitates. Vehicle is used on roadways in florida. I brought the vehicle to the dealer three times and the problem persists. Delayed acceleration poses grave safety risks to occupants when attempting to accelerate for turn, start, etc. According to the dealers repair orders the following was done: 5-18-06 reflash transfer box control module, configuration of new ecu; reset adaption: 6-26-06- faulty engine management-system diagnosis includes configuration of new ecu;inspect delivery valve and rework compressor;remove spigot and check spigot and reinforcement plate nut ,located and reinstall spigot; 7-3-06-engine management system diagnosis includes configuration of new ecu;drive cycle' as instructed by wds/t4 perform wds diagnostics. No stored fault codes. Check engine and transmission calibration files. Reset transmission adaptions perform addaptive drive cycle. The problem persists. I have rented a car due to safety issue. I am attempting resolve under the lemon law but want this issue addressed for public safety. According to the road reviews I have researched, the 2005 Lr3 has acceleration issues. I could not find a review of the 2006 model yet.
In February while driving and making a left hand turn there was no power steering, and no electrical power in the vehicle. He car restarted. Consumer took the car home, and the car was driven to dealership. Consumer was provided with a loaner car of the same make and model, and it did exactly the same thing. The loaner car stalled at a stop sign, and then restarted right away, but there was a problem with the throttle, and the problem was repaired. Then the car was being taken across country in may. The vehicle had no electrical power. No dash board lights, then in June 2005 the car was being driven in the neighborhood . There was a problem with the vehicle when consumer tried to accelerate the vehicle it wouldn't go any faster than 5 mph. The dealership representative towed vehicle to the dealership. Consumer was advised that it was a problem with some chip in the car, and it was picked up the next day. The car did not have this problem again until last night when battery light and air bag light came on. Then consumer pulled over, and put the car was in park. Then consumer tried to put it in drive, and the transmission was locked. There was very low power, the windows would roll down slowly. Consumer found a way to unlock the transmission by looking in the owner's manual. Then was able to get it into drive but the emergency parking brake engaged.
Dt the vehicle hesitated when trying to start it. When slowing down to stop it lurched. Also did this in reverse. Took to the dealer, and they have not been able to duplicate the problem. It has stalled out a couple of times coming out around a corner. Then it lurched at slower speeds under 20 mph. Upon acceleration, the vehicle hesitated.
