4 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 07/04/2022

I had done a safety recall repair 'recall n623 fuel tank' on my 2016 Land Rover Lr4 landmark edition (32,051 miles) on 6-19-2022 at Land Rover pasadena, 3485 east colorado blvd, pasadena, CA 91107. Few days after they did the free recall fix I got the below error code 'p0442, evaporative emission system leak' that the dealership claims is not related to the recall fix that they did and wants to charge me $250 just to evaluate the issue. But I'm 100% certain this leak is some thing they didn't seal properly at the time of the recall. I'm very unhappy of the outcome and hope I can get this issue fixed without spending any money as before the recall I had no errors what so ever in this car and all started after the free recall fix.

Tl the contact owns a 2016 Land Rover Lr4. While driving approximately 60 mph, the vehicle suddenly shut off. Moments later, the engine was restarted and the vehicle operated normally. The vehicle was taken to Land Rover pasadena (3485 east colorado blvd, pasadena, CA) to be diagnosed, but the failure could not be duplicated and no mechanical failure codes were displayed. 7 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 11/13/2018

An airbag malfunction light illuminated on my dash today. I scanned the car for stored faults and found several, but one in particular was for the passenger frontal airbag/seat. The fault code said there was improper serial data values received. The car has just crossed over 50,000 miles within the last month, however it is still within 4 years of purchase. Since the mileage is over 50,000 miles, I was told by dealership there is no warranty left for the airbags. Since this is a major safety feature, I believe this should be repaired at manufacturer's expense. The passenger side door lock also failed at the same time. I have attempted to resolve the issue by opening and closing the door, adjusting the seat position and fastening and unfastening the passenger seat belt but the light still remains on.

10 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 03/28/2017

While traveling on I-49 north at 50 mph in kansas city missouri, our Land Rover lost electrical control of car. The car shut down the engine, power steering and power brakes leaving the car drifting without power at 50 mph on the highway. The driver was able to coast the car off of the highway without injury or collision with another vehicle. The car had lights and radio power but could not be started. Once stopped the car's emergency brake could not be engaged, so the driver had to stay with the car to keep it from rolling. The car was towed to the dealer after the event. Five seconds prior to the power shutdown, an indicator light came on that said restricted performance. Other information earlier that day the car had been refueled with premium gasoline the car has a one year old battery the car has had problems since purchase with the keyless entry. Some of the key I have will roll down the windows instead of lock the car doors.

12 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 10/19/2016

I had a 2011 Land Rover Lr4 with major issues the car was taken back by the dealership only a year and a half after purchase, due to lemon law. The dealership replaced the car with a 2016 Lr4 due to the many and continued issues. Only 6 months after getting the new Lr4 the car randomly caught fire in the school parking lot while stationary. The car was out of service for over three weeks and after only a few days of getting the car back the parts that were replaced by the service department are not working properly. I am afraid the car may catch fire again. I am concerned the car is still a fire hazard and the safely of the car overall, being 5 months pregnant with two small children do not feel safe driving it. The dealership cannot look at the car for more than 2 weeks and so I will be without a car until then and until a diagnosis and repair can be done. I have addressed these major safely concerns with Land Rover corporate but get nowhere. I have let them know that at this point the risk is too great to continue with the car and they need to take the car back, I am not asking to be compensated for the many many inconveniences I have experienced over the past 2 and a half years, but that I just need to be in a car that is safe for me and my family and that that is not a Land Rover product! any help you could offer would be appreciated! regards, kristen m. Dibella 781-789-0807.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 03/12/2014

I parked my Lr4 in my driveway, which is on an incline. I shifted the transmission to what I believed was park, but apparently the shifter did not end up all the way in the park position. I shut off the engine using the push-button switch, opened the door and got out of the car. The car immediately began rolling toward me. The door hit me on the way down the driveway, and I was fortunately able to jump clear of the open door into the stairway. The car continued rolling down hill, and the door, still open, hit the retaining wall, folding it back over its hinges. The car continued rolling down my driveway, into busy traffic?a car nearly hit it?and across the street, where it t-boned a Honda parallel parked across the street. I believe that the car and/or its btsi system is defective because it allows you to shut off the car when it is not in park without providing an adequate warning or an interlock. I believe that it poses a danger in this condition. I have repeatedly tried to contact Land Rover by phone and email for two weeks now, without success.

16 Electrical System problem of the 2012 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 03/18/2013

Stopped at a stoplight behind another vehicle, when the engine suddenly revved and the vehicle took off. The vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own with a foot already on the brake- we continued to push on the brake and veered off to the side but clipped the vehicle in front of us. It was like we had no control over the vehicle.

17 Electrical System problem of the 2012 Land Rover LR4

Failure Date: 12/20/2012

The Land Rover radios have a dangerously slow latency time when reacting to touch inputs. On some operations it take 3-4 seconds for the radio to react. Most operations are in the 1-2 second range. This is a major distracted driving issue. Input latency should never be this excessive - it requires you to take your eyes off the road repeatably because you can't determine if the radio/nav system has detected your input. The dealer claims there is no fix from Land Rover corporate. This issue is reported by several sources on-line. Lr should release and engineering update in the interest of safety.
