Four problems related to engine and engine cooling have been reported for the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The most recently reported issues are listed below. Constant loss of coolant, overheating. Coored. Crossover pipes replaces. Pressure tests to coolant system come back as normal, but vehicle requires frequent topping up and dashboard warning lights. Car overheated on highway requiring immediate stopping and tow. After removing starter, pooling found while under pressure on shield under turbo manifold. Exact location of leak is tbd. These repairs should be covered by a recall for how frequently they occur. The mhev turbo is generating too much heat for all of the plastic parts.
On Monday, October 28, 2024, while driving on [xxx] [xxx] from mckinney, TX, to irving, TX, a red oil can light appeared on my vehicle's dashboard. Shortly after, the car struggled to accelerate. I pulled over, and white smoke began coming through the dashboard vents. Noticing a strong smell, my daughter and I exited the vehicle. We observed fluid leaking on the ground and smoke intensifying. Soon after, flames engulfed the vehicle's undercarriage. The entire car was consumed by fire. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Engine makes noise even after taking to service 3 times with no solution key remote operation stops working because of bad electronics.
The engine's cooling pipes melt leading to the cooling system failing. This then overheats the engine which leads to dangerous driving conditions. This has been a known issue in other range rover vins and also affects this one.
