2 Air Bag problem of the 2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Failure Date: 09/22/2025

The vehicle has multiple safety and operational defects that remain unresolved after four service visits on April 10, may 28, June 19, and August 2, 2024, totaling more than 30 days out of service. Lane keep assist malfunctions unpredictably at highway speeds—at times making abrupt steering inputs without warning or failing to intervene during lane departure—creating a safety hazard. The vehicle has excessive wind noise, suggesting door or glass seal issues. The infotainment system intermittently crashes, freezing or disabling functions including the backup camera and bluetooth phone audio. Dealer diagnostic scans showed 15 ecu modules not communicating and multiple diagnostic trouble codes (dtcs) across systems, indicating systemic electronic faults. Despite software updates and repair attempts, the problems persist and continue to impair the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and normal operation.

The air bag light has come on and will not go out. There was a recall 15v093000 occupant classification module update. Land rover baton rouge states that they can't diagnose the issue because the vehicle is a 2014. I am afraid that I and/or any passengers riding in the vehicle will get hurt or at worst killed from the malfunction.

5 Air Bag problem of the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Sport

Trim electrical - upon dealer service inspection, technician found the air bag light on. Dtcs code b0020-13 left side airbag deployment control circuit open due to the wiring harness routed under the driver's seat becoming chafed as a result of the automatic seat adjustment resulting in a nondeployment or late deployment of airbag. Dealer recommended replacement of the wiring harness. This is a defective design - this is a stock vehicle with 63k miles and normal use of moving the electronic driver's seat forward or back should not interfere with an airbag's performance.

Failure Date: 09/27/2022

The contact owned a 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 30-35 mph, another vehicle that was driving at high speeds in the opposite direction had lost control and crashed into her driver's side front and rear doors. The other vehicle then crashed into another vehicle. It resulted in a three-vehicle collision. The air bags deployed and the contact suffered a chemical burn on her left arm from the side air bag deployment. There was smoke that filled the cabin of the vehicle. The contact was unable to unlock the doors while the master door lock button was pushed. Ems and the fire department arrived on the scene and were able to rescue the contact after opening the passenger's side front door. A police report was filed. The contact was transported by ambulance to the hospital and sustained second-degree burns to her left arm and bruising on the right hip and the left shoulder. However, there were no bones fractured. She later suffered from nausea, pain from head to toe, and delayed memory. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

The airbag warning lamp came on. We took it to lr and they said the replacement would cost $1038. The airbag needed to be replaced at our cost. However, I did see that there us a recall for airbags on my year and model car which my VIN is not included on. However, I believe this may be an error on lr that they did not include my vehicle. I should also note my vehicle is diesel and that might be a reason it was left out? The contact owned a 2013 Range Rover Sport. The contact stated while driving approximately 30 mph he crashed into the rear end of another vehicle, the contact stated that he was tired and did not see the other vehicle. The contact stated that his front end crashed into the rear end and dented the other vehicle's bumper and exterior mounted spare tire. The contact's vehicle had extensive damage to his front end, the radiator was punctured, the hood was crumpled back toward the front tires. The driver air bag has been replaced twice on my vehicle. The airbag light is back on. The steering column spring is bad also. I have paid to repair the airbag twice. This airbag should be recalled. I think it is unsafe for me to drive it and the airbag will not deploy if needed in a car accident. Please help me by recalling the airbag so Land Rover can replace the airbag. I bought the vehicle used but I should not have to sacrifice my safety. It seems the aftermarket does not have the airbag available any longer.
