Driving to work (I'm a registered nurse), the car (on the highway) just started to slow down. It was a blessing that I was coming up on a rest stop. By the time I was able to get over to the exit lane, the steering wheel froze and the brakes stopped working. Pressing as hard as I possibly could, I was able to pull to the side when smoke started coming from under the hood. There was no warning at all that there was trouble with the engine prior to this happening. That same week, my mechanic had 3 other Lexus with blown engines and no pre-warning.

The dash is melting and is super sticky and shiny.
I purchased Lexus Es350 in July 2019 and learned that the vehicle had safety recalls 20v012000, 20v682000 identified as early as January 2020, high risk fuel pump related issues where a low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail increasing the likelihood of a crash and life threatening. Lexus has been too complacent and till date, still hasn't come up with a remedy. When I reached out to the dealer for a replacement or a repurchase for safety sake they refuse to assist in any capacity. Need your assistance pushing Lexus recall this vehicle. I do not want to put my family in danger driving this vehicle. I appreciate your help resolving the issue.

The subject vehicles are equipped with a low-pressure fuel pump which may stop operating. If this were to occur, warning lights and messages may be displayed on the instrument panel, and the engine may run rough. This may result in a vehicle stall, and the vehicle may be unable to be restarted.
I have the full panoramic glass roof. The seal around the whole roof has rotted away. There is nothing wrong with the glass, but I believe the missing molding makes the glass less secure. Without the molding, rainwater is seeping into who knows what electrical components within the vehicle. Lexus will not replace the molding or the glass at their expense. This is a dangerous manufacture defect that should be repaired by Lexus.

I bought a Lexus Es 350 2007 on October 11th 2019 a few days later I noticed it was a big glare in the window from the dashboard I thought it was all you on there I tried to wipe and there was a sticky residue I went back to the dealership and they told me it was no big deal nothing they can do about it but it gives me a burning eye feeling anti-glare is blinding eyewear glasses and I think it's a danger data dashboard is seeping some type of sticky substance that could be toxic.
I was driving for 2. 5 hours from virginia to west virginia and 3 of my 4 brand new tires went flat at the same time on i81 north. They were installed the prior Saturday and I drove on the next Tuesday. The tires are goodyear assurance maxlife, and they were properly inflated. The goodyear tire service where I was towed for replacement tires said there are no punctures on the tires, which I still have. I do not recall hitting anything,.

The dashboard of the vehicle has deteriorated causing an extreme shiny surface all over. This can be seen at even given time of inspection. A recall was released to do this issue but when the Lexus newport news, va dealership was contacted, the response was this vehicle was not included. During this time the vehicle was already in the need of the dashbpard being replaced due to the reasons stated in the recall letter. The vehicle was later taken to the same dealership whom denied the recall action, for a different service. The representative that was spoken with for the recall was present and seen the condition of the dashboad. The representative then stated that there was a recall for this issue. I reminded them of the call and the rep replied, if we would have known it was this bad, then we would have added your vehicle to the list for repair. I was told since the original recall date had expired for that repair issue that they were not going to honor the repair, even after acknowledging the damage and agreeing that it should have been included. The representative proceeded to suggest me to pay them as the dealer for a dashboard replacement. I asked to speak with another asociate which in turn advised the same information. The suggested service and charge, was declined. This dashboard has caused a mirror like glare in the windshield. It obtructs the view of objects while driving. Eye apparrel has been applied along with, seat position adjustments, and a towel placed to cover the dashboard while operating the vehicle. This is unsafe and as time goes on this issue continues to get worse. I have not had an auto insurance representative inspect the issue. I was unaware that this maybe an option.
My car has a melting dash that leaves a sticky residue on my windshield affecting my ability to see the road. It also causes a glare when driving in the early morning or at night with street lights.
The dash in my vehicle is becoming excessively shined and sticky due to the fact that it is melting because of poor manufacturing, not age or neglect. When it is sunny outside the reflection off the dash is almost blinding for makes it unsafe to drive. Lexus has acknowledged the problem but refuses to pay for it because they're warranty extension for the dash is over.
Melted dashboard which creates glare right in my line of vision. I have noticed other older Lexus models have the same problem as well as other Toyota vehicles.
My dashboard is melting and is sticking to touch and depresses when touched and not safe. I called Lexus and I was told it's beyond the recall window and I have to pay out of pocket and I cannot afford it. Apparently there was a recall back in 2016 but I bought my car 12/2017 so I missed the window.
I have been driving with a shiny sticky dashboard that reflects light directly into my eyes when I'm driving creating a dangerous driving condition. I was just made aware that there was a Lexus customer support program zlz to replace this defective dashboard but I never received a recall notice. I have asked Lexus corporate and the dealership to help me resolve this dangerous defect but they said the program has expired and is no longer willing to help. I am a senior citizen and cannot afford to pay for this out of pocket or buy a new car. This defect is a widely known issue and Lexus has acknowledged that this is causing a dangerous condition while driving. I cannot understand why they would not resolve this matter regardless the program expired or not Especially if owners did not received the notice. Please help. Lexus is unwilling to resolve this matter even though they know this defect is causing dangerous driving conditions which may lead to accidents.
Melting dash board recall. Lexus of mobile is stating I never filed a claim to have my melting dash board recall corrected. This is false. I was there and had photo's taken. I called bi-monthly to find out when the new dash boards would be in. Never was I told they lost my photo's or did not have a claim on file. In addition I was there a few months ago to have the air bags fixed. At which time they saw the state of the dash board. They even created more damage to it but was told not to worry as it would be taken care of when the new dash board was installed. The glare for the dashboard is a safety hazard and must be corrected and should be at no cost to me. Since this is a manufacturing defect.
Melting dashboard emitting out poisonous smell, cause my throats uncomfortable and coughing. My kid complains about there is always smell in my car and felt dizzy and headache whenever sitting in. Need to evaluate the chemical released and its impact to health.
Dashboard is burned plastic,.
On Friday sept 16, , 2016 the Lexus was being parked ( by sally my wife who has been driving this car for many years) on the driveway of my home on 198 compton Ave edison , the brakes became hard and car kept moving crashed the garage door and a second car car parked inside the garage both driver airbags deployed , she was fortunate that the accident was not fatal; the brakes and discs were new and done 2 months ago;.
This car -- purchased in 2003 -- has never left florida. It resides in a humid, hot area, parked outdoors. Are the airbags in this car safe? will they be recalled? if so, when? what should I do in the meantime? thank you.

Dear sir/madam, our Lexus Es350 2008 has front panel melting and cracking. The melting plastic could emit hazardous fumes with health risk to driver and passengers. This melting panel looks awful, it dramatically decreases value of the car. We found this zlz program online below. But unfortunately it expired. We never received the zlz notice even though Lexus had our contact info (this is based on the fact that they sent us numerous letters on the air bag recalls. ) https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10145764-9999. Pdf we called Lexus, they admit it was due to defective material but unwilling to do anything for us. Apparently they treat recalls very seriously but try to do minimum for this defective plastic panel issue. . Read more...

For the past 3 years, my vehicle's dashboard has been melting, causing a sticky, shiny film on the dashboard. This defect is a major hazard as it creates a reflection from the dashboard, not allowing me to properly have a clear view while operating my vehicle. The defect limits me from taking long trips on the road, as I am afraid that I will not be able to see due to the reflection in my eyes.
No description.
While sitting at stop light heard grinding noise and upon turning at traffic light steam like smoke left hood. As I pulled over it looked to be engine coolant.
I have a complaint about my Es 350 Lexus 207. The dashboard is melting. I believe this is a defective problem. I am concerned about safety issues. This is my second Lexus and never had a problem with the first one; (dashboard) Es 300 Lexus (2003). I hope there will be an investigation about this matter. Thank you.
I own a 2002 Lexus Es300 and am the original owner. I have enjoyed the experience of driving the car to around 175k miles in nearly 12 years. So far, I did not have any major problems with the car until recently. Last Friday, Aug 8, 2014, my wife drove the car to a friend’s place and was parked in a parallel parking area. There were 3 cars in that parking area including my car in 5 car parking area. The two parking spots behind my car were vacant. My wife was trying to back up to a spot right in front of another car which was parked there. While trying to backup, there was a sudden acceleration of the engine and hit the car right behind and that car went and hit another car that was behind that car. The impact was so much that there was significant damage to my car and another car that was right behind and minor damage to the third car. Not only the damage to one car right behind but displaced its position and direction that it was parked. The third car was pushed over to the curb and was about to hit the pedestrians that were nearby. There were eye witnesses and police were called to the accident scene and reported the incident. After the incident occurred, I was looking to see if there were any issues with sudden acceleration of the cars and any safety recalls. I did notice that there were quite a few complaints about the sudden acceleration and safety issues on 2002 Lexus Es300. I am kind of disappointed in the way the car malfunctioned and I want to know what NHTSA is doing about it and how it can help victims like me. Thanks and appreciate your response.

My dashboard has been melting and has caused me to be burned and causes a glaze in my window when I drive it.
The dashboard is melting and shinny very sticky. The glare from the dashboard is interfering with the driver's vision.
I purchased a certified used 2007 Lexus Es 350 in 2010 with approximately 26,000 miles. In 2014, I left the Lexus in my florida parking lot for the summer (may-October). When I returned from new york, the entire Lexus dashboard had melted! due to the melting, there is a shiny glare on the windshield which makes it hard to see. I believe this is very dangerous and there should be a recall. I paid a lot of money for this car, and this is a serious safety defect. Lexus should recall these cars and fix this problem.
I noticed the dash board is starting to melt. In the sun it is real sticky. I live in florida and the sun seems to be melting the dash close to the windshield.
I put my key in the ignition, the car started by itself sounded bad, I had not turned key. Removed key and car kept running. We had it parked in garage. Could not get car to turn off, heard something explode under hood, smoke started pouring out from under hood. Called fire department. Firemen opened hood, starter had caught fire and possibly celinoi. New battery bought 1/4/2014 was damaged and dead. Lexus mechanic told me he saw this on other models but not our model. Estmated repair cost 820. 00.
