1 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2004 Lexus ES330

Failure Date: 07/04/2018

I started my car and all of the sudden, air bag light came on. I never had an accident, airbags were never deployed, I checked all the wires and even unplugged the battery for good 10 minutes and the light will not go off. In case of an accident, my car will not deploy air bags and it creates a potential threat that it can be an insta-death, especially with a steering wheel in front of your face.

5 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2005 Lexus ES330

Failure Date: 02/28/2015

We were going on a two way street, (old annapolis road, ellicott city, MD-21042) another car crossed the two yellow lanes (median) and hit our car head- on. The front portion of our car and that car hit us was completely damaged. The car behind us could not stop and hit our car from the rear. We noted that both the driver side and passenger side air bags in our 2005 Lexus 330 did not deploy. We were going about 30 miles and the person came in to our lane may be 35 to 40 miles. I tried to apply the horn and stop my vehicle but could not come to a complete stop. The other driver probably dozed out, but the air bags in his car deployed. 9 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2006 Lexus ES330

Failure Date: 09/17/2012

I have a 2006 Lexus ES-330. A few years back I noticed the airbag cover on the passenger dash seemed to be shrinking. When I went in for service, I asked about this and was told it was nothing. However, the cover looks smaller. I brought my car into the local dealership 2 weeks ago and was advised, after much arguing, that the dashboard is shrinking. My concern, of course, was that the cover would loosen, fall off and the air bag deploy while I am driving. I was told this shouldn't happen but I couldn't get guarantees. I pressed on but was advised that since the car is out of warranty, they accept no liability. After some arguing, the manager agreed to contact the Lexus rep who, after several days, agreed to share the expense in a total dash replacement. The approximate cost is $2200 of which I should pay 50% and they would absorb the other 50%. I declined their offer and continued to make some noise. Today, I was informed by Lexus corporate that the offer was fair and I should accept. Again, I asked about the safety issue and the representative couldn't assure me that this was not a safety issue. So why should I accept liability? regardless of the warranty, a dashboard is not supposed to shrink! nor is the car manufacturer supposed to put the liability on me. I've gone on clublexus. Com forums and apparently this is an ongoing issue. I am looking for assistance with this matter, please. If you have any suggestions, I am listening. Yes, I would like this repaired but I will not pay a cent! more importantly, however, is my safety. I want to know definitively that the airbag will not deploy should the cover become loose. A dashboard is not supposed to shrink. Help!.

10 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2005 Lexus ES330

Failure Date: 07/15/2012

I was driving up the street at approximately 25mph, in a 2005 Lexus Es330, when a 74 year old lady pulled out of her driveway right in front of me. Needless to say, we were involved in a wreck. My 2 front teeth hit the steering wheel knocking them completely out! the air bags did not deploy. I have gone online & see that there are several complaints about this year, make & model vehicle & the air bags not deploying. I feel that had the air bags deployed I would not be going through oral surgery to have teeth implanted. The manufacturer needs to take a serious look at this issue, as the wreck could've resulted in a fatality, & the fact that there are so many complaints about these air bags not deploying.

15 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2004 Lexus ES330

Failure Date: 03/08/2009

I drove off the highway , route 50, in annapolis, MD, onto an exit ramp leading to ferguson road. I applied the brakes but the car did not slow down. I avoided a car on the ramp in front of me but immediately came to the stop sign at ferguson road. The car had not slowed down and I attempted to make the left turn onto ferguson road, but hit the guard rail and another car in the intersection. The air bags did not deploy. I received a cut on my left hand, a bruise on my right hip from the seat belt buckle and my glasses were knocked off. My wife in the passenger seat received a bruised right ankle and experienced pain in the sternal region. We both walked out of the accident and did not deem it necessary to go to the hospital. My wife's sternal pain has not gone away now 7 days after the accident and she will seek medical advice tomorrow, on March 17. On two occasions prior to this accident I experienced transitory brake failure ,but that caused no accident ,and right away after that the brake pedal pressure seemed normal and I forgot about those two incidents. The car had all routine scheduled services, the last being a 90,000 mile service on February 11, 2009. I am the original owner. I never received any notification from Lexus about any possible brake malfunction issues with 2004 Lexus ES 330 autos. The car was deemed not worth repairing by the allstate adjuster.
