1. Headlights: before purchasing the vehicle, I noticed the blinking caution light on the dashboard. Service manager said the automatic headlight adjustment was working fine and to ignore the blinking caution light. Nothing could be done. I later researched and found there are lots of complaints about this. 2. Transmission lags at low speeds. This is incredibly dangerous especially when driving through traffic circles and going through busy intersections. Service manager said this is normal operating and to use a higher octane gas. I am returning vehicle to Lexus.

The automobile seems accellerate just a little bit. When you are stepping on the gas it, kind of jumps forward some, without putting more pressure to the pedal. In motion at any speed.
Did not have a car accident, or experience any injuries or car damage, but this car, like numerous other cars of the same make, model, and year has some serious transmission/computer software issues at times. It hesitates and lurches often. I drove on the highway yesterday and the car acted up in the worst way ever. But it seems to me that with information on these same transmission issues plastered all over the internet, your organization would make Toyota engineer a permanent fix for this problem, and recall and fix these cars.
When I press the accelorator there is a hesitation in the car speeding up and while driving there is sometimes that same hesitation.
The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Es330. The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate to accelerate from a complete stop and also while attempting to accelerate at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where they were unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was also made aware of the failure, but could not diagnose the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 52,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Es330. The contact stated while driving at the speeds of 30 mph applying pressure to the accelerator pedal the vehicle would shift gears , but the speed would not increase. The dealer was contacted and stated this was a common problem. The vehicle failure was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was 61,500 the current mileage was 65,000.
In city traffic, acceleration with my 2006 Es330 is not predictable and it hesitates rather than responding appropriately as the gas pedal is pressed. Has also happened as I am trying to accelerate to merge into traffic. Occurs sporadically and is very unpredictable. Can go weeks without it happening. No accidents due to this - yet. I have taken car back into Lexus dealership and got a canned response of it adapting to the driver patterns and it is responding the way it is supposed to - basically telling me that my problem is not a problem. I will not buy another Lexus and will probably get rid of this one much sooner than how I normally keep vehicles.
The contact owns a 2004 Lexus Es330. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph and attempting to shift from second to third, the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the electronic control system hesitated and as a result, the computer module would need to be updated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure who did not offer any assistance since the vehicle was operating up to their standards. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 50,000 and the current mileage was 70,000.

One month after purchasing my certified/previously owned 2004 Lexus Es330 on 9/30/05, I had the dealer check vehicle's slow to shift, slipping through gears while accelerating, and 'surging' while attempting to stop, as if gears/transmission were slow to get the message. I have had this issue checked 5 times (2005-2009), and each time, they either say they did not find a problem or, twice, reset the computer. I feel as though I'm 'an accident waiting to happen,' however, have seen no reports/ investigations/recalls addressing these Lexus/Toyota product issues. Please advise how NHTSA/I can address this problem before I or someone else gets hurt or killed.
Transmission hesitates from a stopped position on my 2005 Lexus Es330 causing a feeling that the car may stall or lunge forward unexpectedly. I purchased the car a few months ago with 22,500 miles. I brought this problem to the dealer's attention and read about it online. Apparently, Lexus provides a "flash" fix to the software. But, my local Lexus service manager suggested not using the fix because, according to his personal experience, the fix can cause damage somehow to the car's computer that is irreparable. Apparently, the fix is not always a good fix. I was told the fix cannot be set back once it is been addressed. It is my understanding thousands of Lexus dealers have been effected. Also, occasionally I feel like my car lunges forward suddenly and briefly for no apparent reason. Any guidance you can provide about these matters would be appreciated.
The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Es330. The contact was driving 25 mph when the transmission shifted extremely hard, causing the passengers to be thrown forward. The failure recurred numerous times and became worse with each incident. The failure was reported to the dealer and the contact was told that there was a remedy for the issue but the remedy would destroy the computer in the vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 22,000 and the current mileage was 70,000.
Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6) our 2006 Lexus Es330 hesitates and stutters when accelerating after a slow-down, stop or during a turn. I have read various things which suggest it could be throttle control, computer controlled accelerator, or mass air flow maf sensor or air intake sensor ais, etc. Etc. But something is definitely wrong. Dealer is no help. We took the car for this trouble to Lexus of valencia and saw assistant service manager [xxx] . He told us that this the way the car was built. I then tried my best to handle this car but it caused the same problem again and again. We took the car to the dealer a 2nd time -- valencia Lexus and the manager told us nothing is wrong with this car. I have been having this problem since I bought the car in 1/14/2009. It hesitates when I take turns, or when I stop at traffic lights and stop signs. Many times the accelerator goes idle during these events and car does not move and than I put more pressure on the accelerator but then it goes fast and I almost end up hitting the car in front of me.
Tl-the contact owns a 2004 Lexus Es330. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 20 mph, the contact depressed the accelerator pedal which became unresponsive causing the vehicle to decelerate independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000. Pam.
On 9/27/2007, my car (Lexus Es330) went out of control due to sudden acceleration in a parking lot of a shopping center in glenview, IL, and crashed with cars parked nearby. This car incident was reported to the car dealer, but I was told there was no problem with the car. The cost of repair was very high.
I was in a grocery store parking lot when I started my car and as I put it in gear the car sped out of control. I was lucky to have avoided the other cars in the lot because the brakes did nothing but squeal. Upon hitting a curb on the far end of the parking lot, the car spun around and came to a stop. My car was now facing in the opposite direction with a lot of damage. I was treated at the hospital and released but had several months of therapy on my neck. A few months after being released from therapy, I had to return for a second round because of neck pain. Toyota tied up my car for a month to investigate the matter and sent me a letter stating that nothing was wrong with the car but it was the after manufacture mats. When I asked for a copy of the investigators report, I was told that it was not their policy to do so. I am very concerned that they are not recalling the Lexus Es330, and other people may be at risk. Since I still have the car, I wonder if they fixed the problem and covered it up or if the same thing may happen again. Please investigate problems with the Lexus Es330 seriously. I do not feel that Toyota cares about safety when it may dig into profits.
I was given a Lexus 300 series loaner by highland park Lexus in highland park illinois in 2006 while they serviced my Lexus 430. . . While on hwy 41 in highland park illinois the vehicle stalled. . . I was unable to restart it for 15 minutes. . . It then restarted. . . The battery was fine. . . The issue was electronic.
Consumer 2005 Lexus ES 330 transmission hesitates when coming to a stop at 3-4 mph. * ts the consumer noticed that when slowing to 3-4 mph or doing a roll stop, the transmission would hesitate on acceleration then lurch forward with enough force to jerk the occupant heads. The dealer claimed that the transmission was functioning as designed.
Standard complaint for this car. Engine or transmission delay when gas pedal was released then suddenly depressed. This occurs when merging onto freeways, 4 way stops, a traffic light changes, and when pulling out to pass or in certain emergency maneuvers. The delay is approximately 1 or 1. 5 seconds and disrupts timing when you depend on throttle response the most! this has led to several close calls. Dealer was made aware of the defect when car was 1 week old and I was told the adaptive system needs 1,000 miles to learn my driving habits. The dealer is well aware of the problem and says all the 2004 Es330s suffer from the same problem. Lexus customer care claims that the "car is functioning as designed". There is and will be no attempt by Lexus CO. To resolve this issue. The dealer's hands are tied at this point since the company needs to engineer a fix.
When you accelerate from a very low speed there is a hesatation which I feel is dangerous if I had to react fast to get out of the way of another vehicle. I just bought the car it is a 2004 Es330 and was not aware of this problem. Is Lexus working on fixing this problem it can be dangerous.
