I rolled down the passenger side window of my Lexus 2008 Es350 and the window came off track. The window jumped out of the track as I attempted to roll it up and appears to be falling off the car. This is a window that I seldom roll-down. I believe that due to this problem which I consider to be a safety hazard that the Lexus 2008 Es350 cars should be recalled.

This morning driving into work I rolled up the passenger side window and it rolled up too far and is now out of the grove. The nearest dealer is 1 hr 30 mins from here and will need to either tow the vehicle or will need to take it to an authorized repair shop. Estimating huge $$$s. Vehicle is just out of warranty. 38,397 miles.

I own a 2007 Lexus ES 350 and on June 18, 2011 while driving, the passenger rolled down her window and the window came off track while trying to roll up!! we had to pull over and manually readjust the window to keep it in place as it was completely coming out of the panel. The window cannot be lowered now until I get it into the dealership. This could have been disastrous! I have noticed numerous complaints about the Lexus's windows coming out because of something breaking. This window is not used much, so why would breakage of clips or whatever holds it in place break? I feel it it too common a problem and a recall should be addressed.
In may/June 2011 my ac went out and August 2011 my passenger side window went off track due to a broken clip. I have a 2007 Lexus Es350 with 102,000 miles. My warranty ran out just before year 2 due to the high mileage. I took my vehicle to the dealership for the ac and was told the ac evaporator needed to be replaced. Also, the technician told my husband that the waterpump was leaking as well and it needed to be replaced. However, the technician forgot to write the water pump information on the ticket. I contacted Lexus consumer assistance because I have had constant problems with this vehicle; replaced halogen bulbs at $200+ a piece in 2009, replaced driver side window in 2010 due to a broken clip, and replaced rear brakes in 2008. Lexus only agreed to pay 25% of the bill for the replacement of the ac evaporator and nothing towards the cost of the replacement of the waterpump. I did not contact them regarding the passenger front window. Replacement of the ac evaporator, water pump, and passenger side window are very expensive if the work is done at the dealership. Replacement of ac evaporator is $1605, water pump approx $3800, window $520+. Lexus said that I had to replace the entire window and that the clips were not sold separately when I replaced the driver side window. Today (8/11), I took my car to an auto glass shop and they fixed my passenger window and replaced the clips for only $75. Lexus is deceiving a lot of people which is the reason I want to bring this to the attention of NHTSA. It seems like a lot of the issues that I stated above are recurring with other owners. Therfore, I'm asking nhsta to research the number of complaints and problems with the ac evaporator, windows, rear brakes, and water pump. These sort of problems should not occur in a relatively new car and I strongly believe a recall of the 2007 Lexus Es350 vehicle needs to happen.
I had almost finished parking my '08 Lexus ES 350 in a parking place at a business park when it surged forward very fast. I had not touched the excelerator. I braked hard, but the car went up over a cement divider and crashed into the car parked facing me. I had had the car one and half years, and this was the first time it happened. I had it towed to the Lexus dealership. An inspector found nothing wrong externally, but the edr showed I had not stepped on the accelerator before the crash, only the brake, and yet it had surged forward. I had taken the car in earlier for the recall, and had removed the mat and had something added to the software. I sold the car back to Lexus immediately as I never wanted to step foot in it again. This is a very dangerous car, and something is wrong with the electronics to cause this.
On the evening of December 13, 2010, victim left his car running in his garage. The car has a "Smart key" which is a remote key-fob. This means that he does not have to turn a key to turn the ignition on and off. Instead, the car turns on and off by pressing the same button on the dash board. He must have forgotten to turn the car off. He then went to sleep and suffered carbon monoxide poisoning during the night. He was found unconscious on the floor the next morning. The car was still running. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he is in the icu and sedated.

The contact owns a 2010 Lexus Es350. The contact stated that the vehicle is turned off by a keyless system, the engine was very quiet; therefore; the driver left the engine running for over four hours. The contact stated that a keyless system was very dangerous. He feels a key system would be less likely to cause the problem of leaving the engine on. The VIN wasn't available. The car intermittently does not start. Occurred four times in less than five months. Car bought new from dealer late 4/2010. After driving car around to run errands, car does not start. Brake is hard, and charging system warning sign appears. Sos safety feature often does not operate during these instances. First occurred 6/28/2010. Roadside called-required battery jump. Dealer evaluated car- claimed no issues with car or battery. Second occurrence: 7/6/10. Roadside called. Dealer evaluated car for two weeks. Third occurrence happened while at dealer. Lexus technician was able to replicate the problem. Technician thought the car was not recognizing the key. Battery for keys replaced. Fourth occurrence- 8/31/10. Roadside called. Brought to dealer. Claims there are no issues with car, but cannot provide explanation why this is occurring or give any guidelines to prevent the situation from occurring again. In all instances the car was never cold, so battery could not have been issue. Failure was replicated by dealer, but dealer unable to find adequate resolution to failure. However, claims car is "safe" to drive.
In 2007, I purchased a new 2007 model Lexus ES 350 4 door sedan. Shortly after I purchased the vehicle, I noticed that when the accelerator was lifted and the car was downshifting and braking by the engine (the brake not being depressed), at one point the car continued forward for a time rather than continue to being braked by the engine. This condition has continued in spite my calling it to the attention of the Lexus dealer in new orleans on several occasions, the first being shortly after I purchased the car, and the latest being on June 16th of this year. In each instance, I was told by the dealer that the car had no problems. The problem is not a rapid surge, but rather a sudden and unexpected moving forward in gear instead of a continuous downshifting and resulting braking when the car has been driven at about 30 to 40 mph and the accelerator is lifted. This problem does not occur in every instance when the accelerator is lifted, but in traffic when the driver expects the car to slow itself the sudden forward movement, instead of a continuous slowing, is dangerous. The acceleration problem appears to be a fault of the cars electronic control system. I also called to the attention of the dealer the fact that when the car is braked, the car does stop but if pressure is continued to be placed on the brake pedal, the pedal goes all the way to the floor. This has not caused an accident to date, but it does require the driver to pump the brake pedal to make certain that the car will stop. Each time this is done, the brake pedal catches midway to the floor. Again, I was told that this was not a problem. I register these two issues as potential causes of accidents and as complaints on my part.
My problem is with the front drivers window and the passenger front window coming off track and the window attachments breaking. Lexus fixed the drivers window and now the same thing has happened to the passenger window. Is this a common problem that the dealer should recall.
2010 Lexus ES 350. Consumer states he is afraid to drive the vehicle and it is sitting in his garage. The consumer stated as a retired engineer, he believed the problem goes way beyond the gas pedal sticking.
Bluetooth disconnects all the time, apparently, due to interference from other vehicles. Connect function is disabled while the car is moving. This makes one to use phone holding it to the ear, causing a risk of police persecution, as well as safety hazard.
New car less then 1 mo. Old wife and I noticed accelaration surges. Reported to dealer. Dealer stated transmisson is adjusting to drivers. Dealer adjusts, no new parts. Surge still happens, once in a while, not alot. At low speeds 20 to 30 mph.
I was driving at 9:30am to work along with my wife on I-696 near detroit in the left lane vehicle began to accelerate, but as I approached a car in front of me I took my foot of the accelerator and placed it on the brake and vehicle was continuing to accelerate. Had to put full force on the brake. I was barely able to keep the car from further increasing its speed. Once I realized the problem I shifted into neutral , and while the car slowed , I could hear that the engine was revving at a high rate. After a minute, I moved the car back into drive and the uncontrolled accelerated started again, and I put my foot on the brake once again. A few moments later this uncontrolled acceleration ceased and the car regained its normal control characteristics. After slowly completing the drive to work I immediately called the dealership at meade Lexus, southfield and spoke to a service representative to report this very dangerous incident. After describing the problem the service man immediately asked which floor mats I was using on the car. I reported that I had been supplied with black rubber mats by Lexus,. When we received the car in July 2006, and as suggested by the salesman had begun to use those when the weather turned foul in the fall. I was asked if I had removed the carpet mat when I put in the black rubber mat and I said that the carpet mat had been firmly attached to the car, and that I was never told that I needed to remove that mat before installing the rubber mat. This question suggested that this was a well recognized problem . When I queried the service man, was told that this was indeed a well known problem. I was chagrined that I had never received any instruction to avoid putting down both mats. I told them that Lexus had a clear obligation to inform their customers. The consumer stated took the car to the dealer to see what the problem was and informed by dealer there was an internal recall on floor mats. Update 05/15/tr.
The contact owns a 2007 Lexus Es350. The contact stated that the vehicle accelerated from zero to 60 mph when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The contact felt that the failure may have been caused by the all weather floormats that were installed on top of the regular mats. The failure mileage was 7,000 and current mileage was 15,000.
