Nothing engaged an then all of sudden it worked like it was back to running normal for like 10 seconds then lost almost all the power an you can push the padel to the floor almost befor it will even engage. It's my everyday driving car it not safe to be driving, when it's malfunctioning in the ecu, vsc , cruise control quit because of what happened. There a recall on the vsc for the Lexus GS 300 for having malfunction problems. But it only let's the you use only the last 25 percent of the gas padel, it don't do anything in till almost to the floor. This happened in brookville pennsylvania, when I was turing left on to route 36 south. I also had to replace my thottle body because when this all happened, my thottle it was stuck in wide open thottle. It was very dangerous it could have easily put others citizens an my life in danger, witch could cause serious injuries, or in a worse case death. I'm filling out this foam in regards of a recall, to fix or replace the ecu, vsc , cruse control .

6 Electrical System problem of the 2000 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 07/15/2014

While car was parked in the garage it was trying to start up on it's own with no keys. The dash lights were blinking and the car was making a loud cranking, banging noise and we could smell the smoke. After lifting up the hood we could see the smoke coming from the engine and it was still trying to crank up. Smoke begin to fill the garage and it was getting worse. We were finally able to put out the fire with the extinqisher and were able to remove the battery to get the car to stop trying to start up. What would cause such a dangerous thing to happen. Car is still in the garage at this time not sure what to do with it because I am not sure of the engine damage the fire caused. Is this some kind of electrical malfunction?.

8 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 11/01/2012

I drive a 2006 Lexus Gs300 that is having a problem with the exterior headlight randomly turning off while I am driving. This can be very dangerous and I have already received one ticket for this. I see there are many other people on here complaining about the exact same problem and I don't understand why an investigation has not been opened. This exact same problem happened to what im assuming was my other side, about a year ago. It was very expensive to fix, I think it cost me about $1500 at the Lexus dealership. I definitely cant afford to pay that right now and not to mention I already got a ticket for this. I have been trying not to drive my car at night but it is very inconvenient. Are there any alternative methods I could use as a temporary fix until I can get this fixed?.

15 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Driver side headlight goes out shortly after being turned on. I had this same issue about 3 to 4 months ago with my passenger side headlight. The dealer says that they replaced the wires and housing on the passenger side headlight since they could not verify the exact issue. I am concerned that this is a electrical issue. My car is a 2006 Lexus GS 300.

16 Electrical System problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 06/01/2008

Lexus GS 300: headlamp goes out! vehicle was serviced four separate times by the dealer. With each repair visit the dealer responded the same way. We cannot replicate the problem, can't fix it until we can. The vehicle has been returned four times to the owner with the headlamp not working. Four separate visits to the Lexus dealerships during a nine month period generated the same response. First the headlamp was replaced. Two days later the same problem occurred. The headlamp went out while the vehicle was being driven at night. Headlamp problems are known to exist, however Lexus keeps no records of owner reported headlamp problems on their maintenance records. My dealership record shows no record of the vehicle ever being serviced for problems beyond the original headlamp replacement. All attempts to have Lexus corporate re-purchase the vehicle has been refused, first by vaughn wendelstaph, then paulette criss, vp. How many fatal crashes due to a Lexus failed headlamps are required before Lexus takes responsibility for the defect, recalls the vehicles, and removes the safety hazard from the road? Lexus has offered to waste more of my time and continue to guess at what the problem might be and replace random parts until they get it right. In the meantime I'm told to continue to drive this moving hazard and putting myself, my family, and all other passengers at risk. I urge all Lexus owners having a Lexus lemons headlamp safety or other road hazard problem. Blog your response to Lexuslemons. Com. Updated 09/04/09.

21 Electrical System problem of the 1999 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 12/20/1999

In late september1999 while sitting in traffic with the car in and my foot on the brake, the car began to accelerate and surged forward. I reacted immediately by shifting the car into park. This allowed me to regain control of the car. The second incident occurred in early November 1999, when I came to a complete stop a stop sign. As I applied the brake, the car once again attempted to surge through the intersection. Another episode occurred in early December 1999 when I was driving my son home from school. We approached the intersection and I stepped on on the brake. The car surged forward so intensely that the seat belt tightened around him so tight I was unable to release him. He was completely horrified and his shoulder was bruised when I cut the seat belt off when we arrived home. At that point I contacted Lexus and took the car to the dealership. Shortly thereafter I was contacted and told that could find anything wrong with the vehicle. On April 14, 2003 I was stopped at a traffic light with my foot on the brake, when the car began to accelerate and surged forward. As with the prior incidents I reacted by shifting into park. I contacted Lexus again and they informed me that they could find anything wrong with the car. O April 21, 2003 I sent sent a letter to dannyclements, ceo of Lexus seeking assistance. I have never received an answer and the problem still exists. Their has been other incidents over the years. I have lost confidence in Lexus ability to correct the problem. I still own the vehicle and decided to file the report after seeing the coverage of this incidents on the news. This problem goes back years any help would be greatly appreciated. Or perhaps save a life. Or expand the recall.
