1 Seat Belt problem of the 2004 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 06/02/2015

Passenger seat belt is locked and cannot be used. I read on repair pal that this was a recall on 4-21-2006, however it is not coming up as a recall. I need it fixed and was hoping to have it done as a recall so I am not financially responsible. Limited income and I have a child that needs to occupy that seat. Advise please.

The contact owns a 2001 Lexus Gs300. While driving approximately 65 mph she noticed that the drivers side and passenger side seat belt were not holding the passengers in securely. She stated that the seat belts were getting weaker. She also stated that once she parked the vehicle the seat belt did not lock back in place and it draped down. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer regarding the failure. She contacted the manufacturer and was advised to take the vehicle to a dealer to have them check the seat belts. She also filed a complaint with Toyota. The failure mileage was 153,525 and the current mileage was 153,700. Updated 01/28/11 updated 02/07/jb.

5 Seat Belt problem of the 2006 Lexus GS300

Failure Date: 08/10/2006

I had a 2006 Lexus GS 300, leased, for 3 years, my third Lexus lease. The seatbelts in the front wouldn't release from their holder, I'd have to pull on them for 10 minutes before releasing. To me that was a safety issue. I complained several times to dealer, their response was that I didn't know how to put my seatbelt on, finally I called Toyota, and they replaced the seatbelt, then it happened again, and again . I think they replaced belts three times, I finally found out that there was some recall or campaign on the seatbelts which they didn't make me aware of, kept telling me it was my fault ! I wonder how may more complaints there were regarding the seatbelt situation !!!!.
