Two problems related to brake disc caliper have been reported for the 2007 Lexus GS350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Brake Disc Caliper problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2015

The design and failure of the rear brake calipers, the rear brake calipers constantly rust and seize making them stick and cause a safety issue because the brakes will lock and start smoking. Even after repair the brakes will seize again after a year or sometime sooner. It is a known defect by Lexus but still not covered as a recall/safety issue.

2 Brake Disc Caliper problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2013

While undergoing normal preventive maintenance by the selling authorized Lexus dealer, the car was noted to have ". . . Both rear caliper slides . . . Seized" resulting in the need to ". . . Replace(d) rear pads and rotors due to calipers being seized. " the servicing dealer informed me that this is a common problem in all Lexus models that they service and, in their opinion due to inadequate lubrication of the rear caliper slides, which they are generally able to correct by removing and relubricating the slides or, if necessary, by replacing the calipers.
