general problems of the 2008 Lexus GS350

Two problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2008 Lexus GS350. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2014

The contact owns a 2008 Lexus GS 350. While driving approximately 20 mph, the vehicle accelerated on its own without warning. The speed reduced after the contact applied the brake pedal. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing on two separate occasions; however, the failure could not be located both times. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The failure mileage was 36,720.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2013

The contact owns a 2008 Lexus Gs350. The contact stated that after shifting into reverse and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle accelerated independently in reverse. The contact went downhill and crashed into a tree. The contact and a passenger sustained concussions and soft tissue injuries although the air bags did deploy. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing of the failure. The failure was reported to the manufacturer. The failure and current mileage was 43,000.
