Air Bag Problems of Lexus GS350

While I was driving my Lexus the drivers side curtain airbag deployed without any type of accident or incident. I also have dash camera video at the exact moment the airbags deployed. This was beyond frightening to have them deploy without an accident. I contacted Lexus and they do not seem that concerned. There is some serious safety defect for this to have happened without a crash. I can't imagine if the vehicle was making a turn because we would not have been able to see. I would never want this to happen to anyone else. Now I have to pay around 5,000. To fix something that I did not cause and seems like a very serious safety defect. The dealer seriously told me my vehicle was out warranty. I contacted scott murphy@Toyota corporation and he can't conceptualize that it was not in a collision. After speaking with them I wonder if this has happened to others and they just said � it is out of warranty�?? thank you and I hope no one ever has to experience there airbags deploying without an accident or dealing with Lexus. The contact owns a 2007 Lexus GS 350. While the vehicle was occupied with the engine on and the gear shifted in park, the front passenger curtain air bag and the rear passenger air bag (located between the back rest area) abruptly deployed. The contact heard a hissing noise prior to the failure. There were no injuries. Takata recall; may 23, 2016; gzg, 16v340. Front seat passenger. I cannot put anyone in the front seat. Lexus will not fix or buy the car back, but carmax will. I seldom drive. . . Not happy. My car was hit parked and the bag did not go off. The car was repaired by progressive but I cannot be sure I they checked its security of the bag. Don't feel safe in the car at all. Takata airbag recall-- Lexus has not offered a fix for the recall of the front passenger airbag recall. Our ES 350 has been rendered unusable since we cannot carry any passengers in the front seat. Lexus has not offered to disable the front airbag so that seat can be used until the recall is completed. We need another vehicle in the interim and have not been offered one by Lexus or need the front airbag disabled.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the headrest needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. Takata recall. I live in zone a. My Lexus dealer still has no parts. Your repair rate chart has no listing for Lexus. I take this to mean that no Lexus air bags have been replaced. I find this very disturbing. I would like to know when I can expect the air bag in my car to be replaced.

On December 21,2015 there was a car that ran a red light and hit my car damaging the entire front end of my car. The airbag on my driver side deployed but not on my passenger side. My car was in motion going about 30mph on a city street and the guy that hit me was making a left turn.
