Tl the contact owns a 2006 Lexus Gs430. After the vehicle was driven and parked for approximately 10-15 minutes, the contact noticed flames underneath the hood. The fire was extinguished by a friend. The fire department was not notified. The contact stated that the fire may have originated from the battery compartment. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer and manufacturer were not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 200,000.
Lexus 2001 Gs430 exhibited acceleration while braking. Two or three incidents in 8 years "approximate incident date" is not valid since I have not had a recent incident. I am filing this reports in view of the recent Toyota acceleration problem reports. Although my experience is infrequent, I wanted to document that similar problems occurred in my much older Lexus.
