My Gx550 is vibrating at all speeds. I took my Gx550 in for service on September 2, 2025 at butler Lexus in union city, GA, because of the vibration in my Gx. They did a wheel alignment and a force road wheel balancing but this did not solve the problem. On September 3, 2025 I took my Gx550 to discount tires in douglasville, GA, where they took off all the old weight including the new ones that were added by butler Lexus. I found no improvement as I drove home. I took my Gx550 back to discount tires, I asked them to check the tires and wheels. I was informed by one of the tech at discount tires that the my wheels are marginally out of round and I should let Lexus know to check the suspension. I was told by butler Lexus service department that discount tires was grasping at straws. I spoke with Lexus corporate September 19, 2025, they informed me that butler Lexus service department informed me that my vehicle is suppose to operate with vibrations, that could felt in the steering wheel and seats. I asked for someone from Lexus to come out and inspect the vehicle. At first I was told that Lexus doesn’t do that. Then I was told she would check into it. Also Lexus never addressed the the transmission hard shifts that I reported.

On July 19th, with less than 100 miles on the odometer, the vehicle began down and upshifting so hard that it felt like a collision. Additionally, when attempting to accelerate, the transmission would hunt for gears without engaging, resulting in loss of power - creating a very dangerous situation. Lexus is unable to identify a resolution and has had the vehicle in the shop for 2+ weeks.
New 2024 Gx550, less than 2 months and 3,000 miles of ownership- accelerating to 40 mph and vehicle completely shut off, jolting me forward. All lights on dash lit up, "power steering failure, engine failure, not safe to drive. " it was all I could do to get it off to the shoulder of the road. Extremely dangerous. Had vehicle towed to local Lexus dealer. After 2 weeks master tech determined timing chain snapped causing catastrophic engine failure. Now we wait for Lexus corporate to advise them on how to fix. Both dealer and corporate blaming each other for the lack of communication. Vehicle has been sitting in dealer parking lot for 3 weeks with no timeline and no communication. I was told by head service tech this is #5 in the country for this year, make, and model of timing chain snap resulting in engine failure. Neither parties are doing anything to make it right. This is an $85,000 vehicle.

Lexus issued a warranty enhancement program sometime in 2022. It stated that if the check engine light would illuminate due to moisture and cold in the air injection pumps and air switching valves. The warranty would be good until 10 years from first use which is 10/23 for this vehicle. I was not experiencing the problem at the time I received the notice so I files it. A few months later I started to experience the exact issue with the check engine light which would come on and render certain systems inoperable such as cruise control, the light would stay on for any amount of time then go off and everything was then ok. It then would reappear at some time and last for days/weeks then disappear. After a few months I contacted a Lexus dealer to have the issue addressed. They said the condition was caused by something other than what was outlined in the enhanced warranty and refused to cover it. . I contend that the exact symptoms outlined affected my vehicle and subsequent to Lexus initiating the program certainly other conditions would cause the problem and should be covered. My appeal to the dealer and Lexus headquarters were denied. In addition to the disabling of cruise control other issues existed and perhaps some not obvious to the driver could be happening.

My 4 lo light is constantly flashing, and I lose power when trying to accelerate. 1. Loss of traction control: if the 4wd system fails while engaged, it could lead to a sudden loss of traction. This can be particularly dangerous in conditions where 4wd is necessary, such as on slippery roads, steep inclines, or off-road situations. 2. Unexpected vehicle behavior: a malfunction in the 4wd system could lead to unpredictable vehicle behavior. For example, if the vehicle unexpectedly shifts into or out of 4lo mode, it could disrupt the driver's control over the vehicle. 3. Increased wear and damage: operating the vehicle with a malfunctioning 4wd system can lead to increased wear or damage to the drivetrain. Over time, this can result in more significant failures, potentially leading to unsafe driving conditions. 4. Difficulty in handling: if the vehicle is stuck in 4lo mode, it might become difficult to drive at higher speeds. The 4lo mode is designed for low-speed, high-torque scenarios, and driving in this mode on regular roads can affect handling and control. 5. Increased risk in emergency maneuvers: should an emergency maneuver be necessary (like sudden braking or evasive steering), a malfunctioning 4wd system could impede the vehicle's response, increasing the risk of an accident.

I am reporting two safety-related problems in my 2022 Lexus Gx 460, both present since shortly after purchase and the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. 1. Power train / speed control (delayed acceleration / no throttle response): when I transition from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal quickly (normal driving), the vehicle intermittently displays a warning message indicating the accelerator is being pressed while the brake is also pressed (or similar wording). When this happens, the vehicle does not respond to the accelerator for several seconds even if I press the accelerator to the floor. This has put my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle fails to accelerate when needed (e. G. , when merging, turning, or avoiding traffic), creating multiple dangerous near-miss situations. The warning message appears at the time of the event; I did not notice a warning lamp or message consistently prior to the event. This issue has not yet been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. A dealer service visit is scheduled for next week. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives for this problem. 2. Seats (driver seat causes leg numbness/spasms impairing pedal control): the driver seat bottom is unusually firm, and after approximately 30 minutes of driving my legs become numb from the lower thighs down to my feet and I experience spasms to the point that I cannot safely operate the brake and accelerator pedals. This is a safety risk because it can prevent proper pedal control while driving. This condition has been consistent since shortly after purchase. It has not yet been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, and the vehicle/seat has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives for this issue.

When attempting to stop my vehicle, I started feeling a huge clunk towards the rear of my Lexus Gx 470. Now I feel it when driving and while it is sitting in park. Had I known that this was such a wide spread issue, I never would have purchased this vehicle. Something needs to be done before someone gets hurt or worse.
