New 2024 Gx550, less than 2 months and 3,000 miles of ownership- accelerating to 40 mph and vehicle completely shut off, jolting me forward. All lights on dash lit up, "power steering failure, engine failure, not safe to drive. " it was all I could do to get it off to the shoulder of the road. Extremely dangerous. Had vehicle towed to local Lexus dealer. After 2 weeks master tech determined timing chain snapped causing catastrophic engine failure. Now we wait for Lexus corporate to advise them on how to fix. Both dealer and corporate blaming each other for the lack of communication. Vehicle has been sitting in dealer parking lot for 3 weeks with no timeline and no communication. I was told by head service tech this is #5 in the country for this year, make, and model of timing chain snap resulting in engine failure. Neither parties are doing anything to make it right. This is an $85,000 vehicle.

I do have a lot problem with the Gx 460 since I got the vehicle. The vehicle to the right and that the steering wheel was vibrating. We when back to the dealer the next day 4/9/23 and explained the problem to the seller that the car is leaning to the right and on the street and on the expressway between 35-45 mph the steering wheel vibrates horribly. The mechanic says he just did the inspection and everything is right with car. On 4/11/23 we went back to shop with the same problem. The mechanic says the checked the execissive road force and rotated and imbalance of tires. On 4/15/23 I went back to dealer to returned the car, because they have not solved the issue with the car. They told me they did something to vehicle but, they refused to explained why the did. On 4/24/23 I spoke to the manager from the shop and I told him if they are able to fix the car. I do not longer wanted the car. They setup an appointment with the master technician to double check what was wrong with car. The master tech told me the only thing can do is to move the steering wheel again. The car is leaning to right and steering wheels is vibrating. On 4/30/23 I spoke to manager from the dealer and he told me that he couldn't do anything else for me. They won't be able to resolved the problem with the leaning and steering wheel. If I have any other complaints I need to call Lexus. When the vehicle is leaning to the right and pulling to the side is not consider a premium experience. The car is very problematic. Other possible cause of vibration and shaking include: bent wheel, improper alignment, worn suspension components, driveshaft problems, tire are out round and a lot money. Money that I don't have. This problem is not new for Lexus or the dealer. There are many complaints in NHTSA and TSB in reference to lean to the right and steering wheel. This is one reported l-sb-0015-21 and Lexus haven't take any action to resolve this matter. Unfortunately, the customer is the only one who loses.

After feeling that my brakes hadn't worked properly at a stop light (I almost skid through it), I was traveling about 35 mph around a curve and lightly pressed on the brakes to make sure I would slow down. Unbelievably, my brakes completely failed and I actually believe I sped up while at the same time my steering went out of control. I was unable to control or stop the car. After a few seconds I was able to pull off to the right and mud slowed me down enough to come to a stop. It was a truly petrifying experience and the tow truck driver confirmed that my brakes were completely non-functioning when he had to use the emergency brake to get my car on his truck. Lexus claimed that they could find nothing wrong with the car, however, which I find to be extremely disturbing. I pray that they do not attempt to resell or lease this car.

New Lexus Gx460 has a vibration in the steering wheel at freeway speed. The vibration can cause the vehicle to drift into the next lane. The dealer attempted to balance the existing wheels and tires two times. This did not work. The dealer then replaced the wheels and tires. This did not work. Dealer called Toyota tech. All steering, wheel, and suspension parts were checked and found to be ok. Car still has the same vibration, and is still at the dealer. Car is dangerous to drive in this condition.
