Warning Light On problems of the 2005 Lexus GX470

Airbag warning light came on. Service identified a broken wire in the drivers side airbag. Recommendation was also made to replace the passenger side harness at $2500. When the vehicle was returned, the entire dashboard was cracked following the contour of the controls and glovebox. This was replaced at no charge. Service admitted that the cracking is a common problem.

Tl- the contact owns a 2005 Lexus Gx470. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: g2b (air bags) however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated the vehicle's air bag warning light was illuminated. The approximate failure mileage was 104,000. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue/failure. VIN tool confirms remedy not yet available. Gl.
