Electronic Stability Control problem #1

Height control for rear air suspension bottoms out and the vehicle bounce violently while driving and the control switch for the height is stuck in neutral.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

Hit side road on highway that was gravel. Turned wheel to get back on highway and SUV rolled 1 1/2 times - had taken it in a couple years prior due to back wheels not being stable on gravel roads and was told the stability control was fine which it wasn't.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

While I was driving my vehicle the vsc, abs, and etc lights came on,this is not the first time that this had happened, the lights has came on before while at a stop light and in park. The vehicle now will not go into gear it only stays in park. It still will start but can't drive because it won't go into gear. The car also was pulling to the side while driving and on several occasions it would not start at all for whatever reason . I searched google and youtube and someone said to unplug the battery for 30 minutes and it should start and it did. I forgot what they said the cause of it,I think they said the ems needed to be reset. I don't think these things should be happening but every time it does it happens in the same pattern and we have to reset the ems . The gear just recently malfunctioned this week. I think this is very dangerous and someone needs to investigate this ASAP before something bad happens. I have not contacted Lexus because it is pointless and they will not do anything about it,I should know from past experiences with them.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

When cranking the check engine and the vsc and traction light all come on. Had the Toyota dealership put it on the machine said it was something with emissions that would run around 2k to repair at the Lexus dealership. Vehicle runs perfect. Lights will go off at random times but then come back on. This has been going on for a couple of months and the vehicle is still running great. Other owners have experienced the same problem according to my google inquiries. I also have had my entire dashboard crack which I understand Lexus will be fixing at no cost to the consumer.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

When I was driving my Lexus Gx470 (2003) with my family on a local street at around 35 mph, my vehicle suddenly stopped by itself. The brakes engage by itself and the vehicle stability control activated with beeps. Fortunately, no one was behind me. I took my car to the local mechanic, he checked the brakes, calipers. . Etc, he said everything is fine but he couldn?t find any reason why it happened, he asked me to contact Lexus dealer. I called the Lexus dealer service center, I explained the service representative about what happened, he told me to check the brake calipers, I told him the mechanic already checked it. Anyway, even the Lexus dealer couldn't explain why it happened.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

The contact owns a 2004 Lexus Gx470. He experienced a recurring failure in which the brakes would engage while driving at any speed and the vehicle would pull towards the right. During the failure the vsc light also illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on four occasions who stated that the vehicle was operating as normal. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure continued to occur intermittently. The failure mileage was 70,000. The current mileage was 90,000.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

I was driving my 2003 Lexus Gx470 on my way to the hospital with my three year old son who was experiencing breathing problems. I lost control of the SUV near the exit for the hospital as I was preparing to take the exit from the freeway. The vehicle went off-balance and did a 360 degree rollover from the exit ramp. I ended up in the median between the off ramp and the on ramp. My son and I were intact after the accident. The vehicle behaved erratically during the episode and I could not figure out what was happening with the controls. I would like for NHTSA to look into the stability system of this vehicle based on this experience and recent news of similar vehicles from Lexus.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

Problem with vsc on my 2004 Lexus Gx470. I was driving from a ski resort on snow covered road at approx 35-37 mph. The front right wheel hit a pothole and the rear of the vehicle shot sideways and we were headed off the road to the right, then traction control or something kicked in and we shot into oncoming traffic. I tried to steer back into our lane and the rear left again sent us into a sideways skid across the right lane and headed off of the road until the right rear hit a pole. The car continued to move and shot us back into the right traffic lane and I was able to finally gain control and pull over. I had no control of the vehicle and we veered back and forth across the highway for several yards. I have driven in winter conditions for years and have been in slides before, but never where the car changed direction and veered back and forth instead of maintaining the slide trajectory. I am convinced that the sensors are wrong or something is wrong with the vsc and reported my concern to my insurance company and also to the Lexus dealership. I took the vehicle to Lexus and had them run full diagnostic, including zero point/yaw rate. They reported that there were no issues with the vsc. The tires and brakes checked out too. I have only had this vehicle serviced by Lexus, even oil changes. I have been searching this site and others for similar esc/vsc complaints and have found a few, then when the announcement about the vsc problems with the new Lexus GX came out, I knew I should report this. There should be an investigation of all Lexus GX vsc systems - whether they develop flaws over time or if there is some issue inherent with the system that causes the uncontrolled skids. This is the second time the car has gone into an uncontrolled slide - the first time there were no damages.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

I was traveling west on a two lane paved road (sutton road) near sutton school. Weather was snowing and road conditions slippery when my accererator failed to return to idle position. I applied brakes as I was approaching a vehicle in front of me traveling in the same direction. The electronic stability control failed to maintain straight direction as per design intent and manuals. Front began sliding to left and rear of vehicle began sliding to right. I ncreased brake pressure and steered into th skid , to the right. I was able to miss the contact with any other vehicles and or damage any property , but did end up sliding into a ditch off of the road. With the impact resulting in the death of my service dog . As I am handicapped. No damage to my vehicle , but no I am virtually immobile with the loss if my dear service dog.
