My Gx470 2004 has rust on frame, shocks and suspension. Have been told that they will not make any repairs because they will cost more than vehicle. Lexus should really consider these frames from dana ohio in the recalls as the others. Over the years I have had the radiator, emergency brake and rims all rust out and replaced as well and the vehicle is not even in snow or beach areas. These vehicles also have the seat belt issue which makes the airbag light stay on. As nice and reliable these vehicles were I believe Lexus should back their product!.

Rear suspension arm broke a way from a frame section that appears rotted. No other rust on vehicle. This happened while driving on smooth road and made very difficult to control. Scared to think if this happened at highway speed. Again. . This is a clean. . No rust vehicle.

Frame is rotting from inside out, excessive corrosion on an otherwise spotless vehicle. This is a known issue that was common to the early/mid 2000's Toyota tundra, tacoma, and 4runner, the latter of which shares frame components. Toyota, for whatever reason, covered the tundra and tacoma through recalls, but so far has not done a recall on the 4runner or Gx470.
The air suspension system does not function properly causing the vehicle to bounce aggressively. Sometimes the problem rectifies itself and the system miraculously begins functioning again with proper fill of the air suspension bladders or proper sensor control. I am aware that this is a common failure of this model vehicle and year. So much so that there are companies dedicated solely to selling only air ride suspension systems/components and air suspension conversion systems to completely eliminate the air suspension from your vehicle and convert to traditional spring suspension. This is certainly a hazard and has caused the vehicle to bounce in fast and slow speeds. Control of vehicle on freeway at 70 mph becomes intimidating.
The entire dash board is cracked. There are spots on my leather seats and arm rests are cracked and torn. Also told the truck doesn't have shocks but I can feel every bump.
Vehicle lost sense of shock absorption, bouncy with difficulty controlling. Taken immediately to Lexus kingsport, TN dealership, and repaired. Circa 7 months later, recurrence of difficulties, and again, repaired at Lexus kingsport dealership. Circa 1 month ago, while on long distance travel (north carolina to south carolina) vehicle became difficult to control, and "height suspension" dash warning light on, and immediately taken to perfection automotive, specializing in Lexus repairs, and informed I must take vehicle immediately to Lexus hilton head island for safety repair on the suspension system again. The vehicle cannot be driven safely when this central vehicle suspension system malfunctions. This has been malfunctioning on three occasions, beginning with vehicle reaching 90,000 miles.
: the contact stated while attempting to apply brake pressure at 60 mph the vehicle pulled to the right and left and became uncontrollable. The dealer determined there was a design defect involving the suspension. The manufacturer was alerted.
While traveling at a low speed the consumer noticed that the vehicle was vibrating. Once the vehicle reached speeds over 60 mph vibration increased. The dealership serviced the vehicle four times but could not duplicate the problem. Please provide any additional information.
