Transmission Failure problems of the 2006 Lexus IS250

Tl the contact owns a 2006 Lexus Is250. The contact stated while driving 40 mph, the transmission failed to shift into third gear. The contact stated that the check engine and the vehicle stability control warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 145,000.
